The competition is about technique. If his 'previous' experience was so advanced why was he accepted to compete by the producers, has 'professional' dancers are 'not' allowed to enter. Lets keep this it 'real' based on the 'facts' that....he 'was' 'allowed' to complete and therefore a 'credible' contestant (all based on his 'previous' experience. Without malice, but to be completely honest, pretty shocked at the final result. The 'innovative ideas and techniques' that these two displayed and brought to this 'competition was incredible. At no time did they ever play it safe. It was obvious that he completely outstripped the other contestants 'safe' route and set the bar for all of them. Also, what didn't help was that they kept on 'droning' on about 'previous dance experience'. Personally, in my youth I learnt to ride a bicycle, but Inot to the extent that I would win the Tour De France!. To clarify, this, Vito is a trained dancer, but Leyton left him standing and took him to school!. So based on that fact, why didn't Vito 'up' his up his technical ability on the floor for everyone to clearly outstrip Leytons visible technique excellence!. Although it was down to all that droning on from the 'old tired' and worn out judges (who didn't have this technique themselves!), may also have been down to the public being more in sync with a 'coronation street celebrity'.
I just watched the Zara & Graziano version of this interview. Turned out GRAZIANO WANTED TO DANCE WITH LAYTON, ha. "We had a connection, I felt the banter" he said. Same questions except instead of the dance experience question, it was a ' how did you feel about the dance off'.
I want Layton to tell the truth, that being, at least half the contestants had dance training but he just happened to outclass all of them. Being better than the others is not a reason to criticize him.

I love Nikita - and Layton does everything right (and he seems like a very nice guyt)! But his professional background ruins the spirit of Strictly! Frankly - I'm bored by their routines - they are simply too slick. I now find myself skipping them half way through!
The spirit of Strictly is not 15 Quentin Wilsons hobbling around the shop, its the joy that comes from it. Just FYI, all of the contestants that are still in it have dance experience, so are you going to skip the show altogether?
