The most amazing thing I've ever seen is Matt turing all his hobbies into ways to make money. Ambition, good friends and family will take you far in life. Respect!
I'd love to have you put together a Harley-Davidson specific tool "kit". I just started wrenching on them, and I'd love to have a dedicated box or cart for all my Harley needs.
Great video, excellent tools. Small note - the Hazet 916HPLG (extendable 1/2” ratchet) is 90 teeth not 80. It also has 1000 Nm force capabilities so it would really replace all of the breaker bars you have to simplify your offering. The flex head Hazet 1/2” ratchet 916GK is 32 teeth.
Snap On hammers are top notch. Mac Tools / Stanley anti vibe are another good choice. Never tried trusty cook as they aren’t readily available in the UK. Thor do good options for copper, rawhide etc. Beta also have a good selection of hammers.
I love the setup. I have a husky box. It took me a long time to figure out exactly what I was gonna need. I have it pretty good right now. Has everything I use and nothing more.
This inspires me to change my drawer organization. Currently I’m pretty good, with a 24 foot long Hayley array. However, my OCD needs tool grid and I think I may purge my screwdrivers and reset with a full set of Wera (although I’d have to stay to a uniform color handles).
Mathematics on loading as much as you can in a container, says to place your largest items first. Your socket sets, in length, is your largest product.
Personally I would want my socket sets from short to tall, and each socket size is on line perpendicularly. In the case of your cabinets, the socket sets would be 90 degrees to what they are, so as the set to be in one line, not two
Definitely think that company should take advice on designing your boxes for tool storage you figure if you're going to spend that much money on cabinets and then have to split your socket sets up because you don't have enough room it's kind of defeat the purpose thanks for the great content I really enjoy watching you organize
Love the organization and maybe its just the way it looks on camera but the sockets seem very close together. Do you find there is any inconvenience to grabbing sockets in certain rows?
@ObsessedGarage awesome. It's a sweet setup. I've definitly got a bias towards Snap On but I keep seeing more and more about Ko-Ken tools. The ratchet handles intrigue me for sure. One day I'll have to pick one up and give it a good try. Keep up the good videos!
@@annalongfield, they're so good. I've got quite a few other options, but the Koken stuff is just so damn good, especially the backdrag on the ratchets and fit with their extensions/sockets. I haven't tried the Nepros stuff yet, but I'd like to grab a few of those ratches too.
@@DylanTK I do like my Snap-on dual 80 stuff. I haven't tried many other brands. Considering getting some Cornwell and Mac ratchets to compare. I know I don't like the Matcos. I work on heavy equipment and semis. None of the Euro or Asian brands make heavy duty and large size ratchets and sockets. Well Koken makes some of the sockets but compared domestic manufacturers they make a lot less.
@@DylanTK Nepros are nicer chrome and generally fancier but when it comes to function, the Koken stuff is tighter tolerance and lower backdrag. I put a lower tension spring in my ½ long handle Nepros and it helped, but I still preferred my ⅜ Koken stuff. I just wish Koken would make long handled 72T ½ ratchets.
Any estimate on how much each drawer cost in terms of just the Tool Grid? I think you mentioned its ~$125/drawer just for the tiles. What about all the holders and screws?
Matt, you're messing up by not getting into PB Swiss. I've got a toolbox full of just their screwdrivers and bits. The company makes medical tools so you know the regular tools are top notch. I've already got too many hammers but I bet theirs are legit. The German Halder hammers are awesome with a huge range of sizes and replaceable heads. You could get your crazy on there.
He's not going to believe that but they are good. I have mix of Snap-on, trusty cook, and sbd anti vibe. All 3 are great but have different purposes and niches
I think you would have been better off getting a mechanic style tool box take the wheels off and slide it under that counter like you design those two box build offs between Snap-on and the other company
What services are you asking about? He'll kit out your garage personally if you pay him enough. He has a team that can design your garage. Also has tool and organising packages that he personal puts together and sells.
I don't know how you can work in these rediclously messy untidy conditions you create. It must take you over .0159 seconds to find any tool you own... How do you expect to be efficient with that ?
Estwing is best in class to me for hammers. Klien has some good and some bad will take some sorting to find the good stuff. Greenlee also makes really nice electrical tools and if you use anything other than Fluke for meters you're an idiot.
@@ObsessedGaragewhen it comes to buying tools though it makes more sense to purchase tools that you would actually need and use over tools. You might want to just look at.
I think those drawer layouts are terrible ruins the whole cabinets for me.. putting the sockets in the bottom drawer just makes zero sense for me.. rather get saber honestly. Sockets should always be in the top drawer.
This looks backwards to me, Sonic was it, done. This looks like a lot of work and money for a marginal benefit in tools but also terrible organization? Look at that drawer, you can't tell me tat looks good.
Foam is just wasted space and while Sonic tools are good, they are not nearly the best. I'd rather have a "hodgepodge" of tools from what I feel are some of the best tool brands in their respective speciality, than just sticking with all one brand because they "look good in the drawer". Edit: In my opinion, foam makes the most sense once you have established your final assortment of tools. If you're still acquiring new things, have a system that looks good as it grows. I'm pretty sure Matt mentioned in one of the tool updates that he would create foam inlays for his final iteration of the ultimate Master Collection once he goes through all the brands.
I’m sure he would like to have it all in foam but cannot produce the foam for a curated set of tools until the tools are chosen then designing layout etc. the guy wants the best of everything and knows it’s overkill for regular folk which is not who he is marketing the master collection to. It is definitely organized but yeah looks way prettier in foam. Also I would like to put my application in for OG comment section manager / hype man.
I personally hate this cabinet array. It looks too much like a kitchen. PLEASE go back to Sonic or Rousseau for the garage, they make it look like an actual garage.
you're gonna run Prevost piping exposed for that "industrial" look, but you're gonna have some super modern tool cabinet array posted dead in the middle as a center piece. It just doesn't fit. Just giving my 2 cents, PLEASE take it with a grain of salt. LoL. I ain't shit to nobody but my family. YOU are the pro. Keep up the killer work you egotistical maniac.

Just starting the video now but I’m really looking forward to a Matty Piddles series on this awesome home setup
PiddleFest 2024 😂 I'm here for it!
Pb Swiss and Martinez have great hammers
Dreamy tool set
I have been looking into Halder hammers (haven't owned any yet). They are German-made and offer a lot of different types for various applications.

Your ocd? Must be thinking about something else
Checkout Hultafors hammers. German made and high end. Picard is also a good option.

Have you ever tried Tohnichi torque wrenches? Curious about your opinion on them. I feel like its right up your alley.
Drawers seem pretty shallow in depth
Plans of adding any impacts sockets in the future?
These handles make me put towels on it lol

Not a fan of functionality of the handles. They look cool but my elbows and pockets would fall victim to them being down here at 5'3".
Holy Koken
do you guys still giveaway tool box with tools?

Yes

Trusty Cook hammers
