  • Sirubari is a Gurung village in Syangja, southwest of Pokhara, is renowned for it’s rich heritage and community homestay. The village is a delightful place to travel to, and the people are remarkably welcoming and friendly. In the center of the settlement, there lies a Buddhist monastery. Though there is a mix of Buddhist, Hindu, and Shaman cultures, the people live in peace. The flora and fauna are exceptional in this area. The western Himalayas of Nepal can also be seen from this locality.
The tourism marketed in Sirubari is a homestay in which guests sleep and eat in individual residences, giving them the feeling of being a family member of a local family. Guests, both domestic and international, are not able to choose their host family; instead, the village's Tourism Development and Management Committee (TDMC) assigns visitors to host families on a rotating basis. This allows all TDMC member families to welcome tourists and receive tourism advantages in a fair and equitable manner. In the Heritage & Culture Category, Sirubari Village received the PATA Gold Award in 2001.
Although the most renowned attraction in Sirubari is their homestay, village tours, mountain viewing and several other cultural programs are also equally, if not more, enjoyable.
Accommodation: Sirubari is 1 hr 47 min drive (44.9 km) via Prithvi Highway from Kathmandu. The only form of accommodation is community homestay.
