A music lover, after my children’s father died three years ago, I couldn’t listen to music at all. It was all shock and stunning. I was driving one day and decided to tap into chance and let any random song come up on my phone and this one did first. I was so swept away by the perfection of the choice it was almost too much to bear. I sang along and wept. I really shouldn’t have been operating a vehicle. I had a number of musical synchronicities with him for sometime after that but boy did I need that song to help me ask for help with my otherworldly pain.
I had this song played at my wife's funeral. We'd heard it years earlier in the movie "Pay It Forward" and made a promise that whomever died first, the other one would play the song at the funeral.
Siberry got it goin on vocally....her voice and vocal expression just gets better and better. K.D. Lang is flawless vocally. I saw her live and she is pro on a level i had never seen before.
What an amazing blend of two incredibly beautiful voices! This song somehow captures the whole journey, with it's heaviness and hope, and how much we need someone greater than ourselves to walk it with us, especially as we near the end. I love the phrase "the beauty of leaving." It's not what you expect, but it seems exactly right. Why is that?
Libby and Michelle.......agreed....I love a good collaboration among peers no matter the medium, have seen these two ARTISTS with others...one time K.D. with Tony Bennett even. It was so endearing to see that she looked at him like her favorite good uncle or something, such adulation, and he too admiring, enjoying, enhancing her shine.
Not enough tears could trade away the pain in the pit of my stomach. I always call upon any angel that is listening to my life’s story as it expands and unfolded a trespassed and trampled scars left behind. After the death of my beautiful wife, I have learned life may evolve some yet, my tears can only lessen the sting of being alone.
Two beautiful voices that need no musical accompaniment. There is one part where the music stops but their voices sound even more beautiful, clear and uncluttered.
oh my, how I love this song, but can't share it even with my closest siblings as it was our dearest sister's request for her burial, which happened 6yrs. ago to the date, Monday the 14th on thanksgiving weekend 2 days after we buried our youngest brother on that long weekend, and then before we knew it, our dearest sister Nicky passed away that Monday morning, on October 14th, 2013. Those memories will never be erased from our minds as siblings....Hard to lose 2 siblings within a 1 month period, but they were so sick, both of them, so I'm sure it was a blessing and not for us to question His decisions, except I believe it was for their own benefit, not ours! Love and miss you both Nicky and Ted.
I am so sorry that you lost your son. I can't even imagine. Hopefully there is some mercy in the release that is this heartachingly beautiful song. I wish you peace.
Thanks to the tender yet strong angels that you have called for me at times.... under the moon and near the pine trees, by the river but in the shelter.... friendship with the light and always in wonder at life. thanks
I posted this song and dedicated the song to the organizers of tomorrow's AIDS walk...thanks so much...as a Canadian guy...mean so much you recorded two of our best Canadian women singing a song that foundation of it is about hope and calling out for the help of Angels...thanks so much xxoo
I am from spain, I always think this song is the picture... I sometimes find this song, but never tink this song to be for me a force,a insipitayion for me... thank you, thasnks!!!!
Thank you so so *very* much for uploading this. This song helped me through a very rough patch in my life. I am very grateful to her for writing this song. Thanks again!
I first heard this beautiful song on Charmed at Andy's funeral & instantly fell in love with it. It's brought a lot of comfort thro some very awful, hard times so thank you for such a gorgeous song xoxox 💟
Lost my pup Sammi about a month ago. I was watching the move Pay it Forward just yesterday, the ending scene featured this song. I bawled like a baby thinking of my little girl and afterward, I felt a little more peace.
first of all, I never heard of this so lovely song until I knew at my dearest sister's funeral.......right after we had lost and buried our youngest brother, our poor sister was just not well either........and we were so happy that she at least was there for she suffered for so many years with severe diabetic nerve neuropathy problems, not being able to walk because of no feelings in her feet and legs whatsoever, and not being able to use her legs, and exercise she was then suffering with fluid on her lungs and went through 4 to 5 procedures to drain her lungs....we, the sisters, kept her fighting for at least another 4 years.....and she was so tired at the end, at the age of 48.....wow, loosing our mom with similar problems at 47, and a brother 2 weeks before our sister was one hell of a month.........and never heard this song until she told our younger sister that she was ready now and this was her song to play....boy, you have no idea what sorrow this song brought to our family,,,,,,but almost 2 years later, I now know she was soon with mom and helping her deal with Ted's recent death also, because mom needed her help to kick his ass in the right place, lol.......boy, many of you will think I'm faking, or lying, but I honest to God say to this day, that mom died so young and brother Ted was only 10 yrs. old when she died, and then he became so ill with Chronic Chrohn's disease that we had to watch Ted die little by little for almost 30 years.....he had at least 14 surgeries that I can remember, and possibly 1 or 2 more?? How many times I prayed to God and Angels to just stop his suffering and please come and get him, I can't say how many times myself...... but I now know that both Ted's and Nicky's ashes were both buried upon mom's casket and that seemed only right for both of them.......but we still hurt so much as the rest of the siblings pray, but yet still suffer of all our losses...and so hoping they are now angels and wrapped around our mom's wings.............thank you for letting me get some heartache shared........God is the only one knowing what's going on up there? and I'm hoping they are all with him........Lord, bless our departed, and keep them with you, Amen!
@@su-rv2uq Why would you feel the need to question that? I for one am grateful to Lise Reid for sharing. It lets others know they're not alone, and hopefully makes her feel less alone too. Lise - I wish you the comfort of all the happy memories of your loved ones.
I Fernando Albuquerque feel so amazed how the song calling out Angel's have expressed so much relief after families lose their loved ones and how Angel's of God guide us through life and protecting us from all evil when we fall in life's paths Our time is short in life so we must enjoy this time as much as we could in happiness
6 Feet Under introduced me to this absolutely beautiful song. I was scrambling trying to find it, listen to it, find out who the artists were, gather background information....everything. Thank you so much for posting this!
This song is so amazing. I remember it from so long ago and just re found it...Calling All Angels for a cure for Covid19, and end to this Political Nonsense and for the fact that " ALL LIVES MATTER"
When I leave the planet--which might be relatively soon--I'm not sure I'd want my daughter to have a memorial service. That would be her call. But if there is a service, this is the music I'd want played.

@@LauraGarcia-fj3mo You are so right on with this comment. Just perfectly
phrased.
Janes voice still has that young girl sweetness but it's also matured beautifully. Love her.
Wow, even more than two decades after release, this song still makes me cry. I tried not to. Just couldn't help it.
Finding you here, Jane. In this dark time... You are LIGHT. Thank you too, KD... and angels.
See KD soo in that space of pure bliss and appreciation when Jane sings solo, its ultimate realisation of unity and creation , so beautiful to see

Never was a huge fan of either of them in the 80s(, great singers that they are) but this is pure MAGIC
Absolutely Perfect! This is one of the most beautiful songs ever! The harmony is beyond perfection!
The best harmonies I have ever heard. Goosebumps.
I love to see the interaction between musicians when they perform. This was so lovely
@Vivian Allen Yes, it is very powerful.

Sublime.
This is absolutely beautiful!!!!!
it's SO NICE to "see" KD Lang being her honest self, what a beautiful voice lost for not fitting "in" in Pop Culture.
Her voice was never "lost." She has had a rich and varied career.
