Caught my first perch today. Little 10 incher. Gave it to mother in law cause I didn't want to deal with it. I'll give this recipe a try soon. Going fishing this weekend.
Great video. I was taught to grill the fish until the eyes go white. I have never tried perch, but I definitely wouldn't mind giving it a go! Thanks, brother. Pete 🏴
I suggest you go on RUclips and do the following query ( cleaning Perch in ten seconds ) your removal of perch wigs is a great idea Thank you I learnt something new, there is always room for improvement.
This was very helpful as i had never kept any perch i caught because of the bones but now i see how its done i will definitely cook my next catch. Thank you👍
That is a great video we have caught 30 to 40 at a time and I really like the way you cleaned those. then cast iron seasoning etc. I have two sharp fillet knives in my boat and well be sure and put a nylon cutting board in there and clean them at the lake . Good job
Great method, planning to try it soon. While I live in southeast Manitoba I fish mostly in Northwestern Ontario north of Kenora. How do you target large spring Perch and what bait or method? Have a great fishing season. I’m actually from North Bay On, raised in Kipawa QC. Steve (68 yrs)
I'm serioulsy concerned I'd cut myself trying to clean such a small fish so its good to see it in action here first. From what I hear yellow perch is the best pan fish in the US.
Yellow Perch, in my experience at least, are difficult to scale, so I skin them and bullheads. I do scale black bass and sunfish and leave the skin on trout (no need to scale trout and salmon as they have very fine scales) though and you're right, the skin does fry up nice and crispy.
Best to gut and bleed the fish before going home, bleed by just cutting the throat. After bled out open gill covers and cut the top part that connects the gills to head, then open stomach and push everything towards the head of the fish and rip the gills out, guts and everything come out with the gills.
Caught my first perch ever this past weekend and used this recipe, it was absolutely amazing thanks for posting!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am glad to hear this as I have not tried perch yet 👍
I haven't been fishing in probably 27 years, but I have a 6 year old and decided to take her. Her first fish was a lovely perch.
Awesome.
Lovely technique for cleaning with zero waste. I reckon this would just as well on saltwater porgies and will give it a try.
I caught my first perch today and this was very easy to follow along with, it tasted delicious! Thank you very much.
Great to hear!

I will be doing them this way all the time now. I'm done trying to get a filet off the little ones. But I will use my deep fryer instead of a pan.
Wish I would have watched this before I tried to fillet them. LOL that looks way better!

Looks Delicious 😋
That looks great. So many times so much of the fish is wasted. Well done.
Exactly! Thanks for watching.
Gonna try this with Socal surf perch
Never seen this way..will try this weekend
Hope it worked for you
all man i have to try this way cleaning wise!!!!!!!! NICE
Love fish but I hate bones in fish, and I was dubious, but it really did look like the meat just about fell off.

Rule 1 - YOU clean what YOU catch.....30 years later an expert!
Can i grill the perch instead of frying it?
I thought that was a very sensibly presented video.
Thanks 👍
Don't take the skin off! it's delicious! Goes crispy and tasty like chicken skin

I LIKE fish skin!

Umm, barbecue fish chips.

Check out the original version of this method titled “ HOW. TO CLEAN A PERCH IN 10 SECONDS “
Make sure you have a fish filet knife... or else there's going to be a ton of waste.
He is not filleting the fish, he is pulling the skin off by hand, any sharp knife will work to cut fins off.
Fish chins I mean perch wings 😂
perch cleaning
👍
Yes I agree a good way to clean perch but your not cleaning out the dark mud line just under the spine. This is actually the fish’s kidney.
👀👀👀👀
I would boil it.
Amazing. Thank you
Please don’t cut towards your hand!!!
Why didn’t you just filet the fish .
That does not make them boneless fillets, there is still the small Y bones.
Y bones in perch? Now that's a new one.
@@jigsjigsnwigs3409 they are there, you can feel them, but they are so tiny that IF your grease is hot enough, they basically melt.
Goddamn dirty things taking up all my time why must they taste good
Worst way to clean this fish.
How so? What would you do different and why?
What??? Crunchy skin is delicious
This is a waste of energy at time.
You're a waste of air.
