To be fair Socrates said those who have no idea about politics/weren't intellectual enough should not vote. I'm not sure how switched on young people are today to be fair but Socrates was correct.
pimperdaddy firstly how do you define when one is intellectual enough to vote? A levels? A degree? A test like the racist voting tests in Southern America in the nearly 1900s? And secondly why is one defined as not intelligent enough to vote? Because of the education system not being good enough to educate people? Because politics isn't taught, at all really, in schools? I think it's a difficult point to argue, one of which intelligence is something I disagree should be a determining factor in which enables someone to vote.
Socrates today would say those who possess Philosophy and Critical thinking skills are intellectual enough to vote. I agree with the above as it takes practice to think as an individual and not just blindly agree with the status quo. Thanks for the response.
