Program Note:
'Glimmer on the Ocean' was inspired by the Sambro Lighthouse, which is the first lighthouse in Nova Scotia and Canada (1758.)
In this music, I would like to share the lighthouse's important role in protecting ships by providing light guidance. It also helps to ensure the safety of fishermen on board and reassure family and friends, their loved ones will come home.
Lyrics:
I. Waves in the Darkness 0:22
In the heart of the ocean, where the waves meet the sky,
Stands a towering beacon, guiding ships by and by.
A lighthouse resolute, a symbol of hope,
Its steady light shining, helping sailors to cope.
Glimmer on the Ocean, a name so fitting and fair,
The light that keeps shining, with unwavering care.
II. Glimmer on the Ocean 4:53
Its light reaches far, like an outstretched hand,
A sign of safety, a welcome to the land.
The Glimmer on the Ocean, a comforting sight,
A beacon of hope, amidst the storm's might.
III. The Sailor's Song 7:37
Through the turbulent winds and the ocean's rage,
The lighthouse stands tall, like an unbreakable cage.
With its light shining bright, like a beacon on high,
It leads the ships home, as they sail through the sky.
Glimmer on the Ocean, a lighthouse so grand,
A symbol of courage, across the wide open strand.
Through the darkest of nights, its beam cuts through the fog,
Leading ships to safety, like a heavenly clog.
With its light shining bright, through the depths of the sea,
It helps the ships sail on, and sets their spirits free.
