I think he's the right guy to bring Bozo back, because the love and passion is there. And he also respects the character. David is a great entertainer. But he's not known as the greatest businessman. So hopefully he can achieve the success he's looking for.
I have all of the shows from around 1979 to the end. Starting taping the show when I got Cable. Posted one but it was pulled because of Copyright. Was going to try to get the entire library up
Over the years, I traded several shows on DVD. When WGN showed the lost bozo episode I emailed them with my list and they didn't have one of them. I was so excited to pass that to them.
That horrible creepy Joey D'auria, cable television and F.C.C. (new regulations regarding children's programming) put an end to the Bozo Show. But most of all Bob Bell's retirement resulted in a huge ratings drop for the Bozo Show. Good luck to Mr Arquette with his new acquisition!
Joey D A. Was by far the BEST BOZO THE CLOWN 🤡 hands down. Bell was drunk every time he was on air. A shame he worked as long as he did on camera smashed every week. But hey lol your entitled to your opinion.
I hope you succeed I would love this for my grandkids. Although there will never be another Bozo Circus Bob Bell and Cookie Wizzo, Joey D. Sandy, and Ray Rayner, most of all Mr. Ned. Your right they are in our hearts for ever the binding tie to us all.
I was gonna say that Now that David Arquette has acquired the rights to Bozo, it would be nice if he could unearth some long lost footage of earlier Bozo shows from around the country. But now that I see his only interest is one Bozo (WHO WAS NOT THE BEST. Frank Avruch was the best) I see that just isn't going to happen.
The skits weren't good. The format was antiquated. But the genuine humor in the subtext between a bunch of WW2 generation guys reluctantly putting on the clown makeup and the actual talent made the show very worthwhile. Trying to recreate a dead kid's show format may be a dead end.
The skits were fine when you are a little kid. What I noticed growing up is right at the tail end of watching it as I got older, I caught on to some of the under the breath puns and such between Bell and the Ringmaster Ned. No double entendres, but definite puns that kids would not get at all. It was quite funny. I wish there was a video of just that stuff.
There was nothing reluctant about it at all. Bob Bell took his job as Bozo very seriously. He always talked to every kid. And he never left his dressing room, even backstage, without full Bozo makeup. And he always spoke in his Bozo voice, even backstage, when he was in full costume.
I for one have never liked clowns. If society wants to move on from an antiquated form of entertainment that is fine with me. Seems like as time goes by, Bozo and clowns in general will be come less relevant, the only people that care about them will be old people.

Are you serious ? every episode?
It's so hard to find anything related to WGN's Bozo anymore, and those that stream it themselves gets it removed

I loved that show.
I think Dewey Riley as Bozo is what we need rn.
Larry, YOU (and the Morning show) are the main reason Bozo went off the air. You took his airtime!
No, the character had been waning in popularity for years.
