I have recently developed a huge interest in these paints and was pleased to discover that they are being carried by Jackson’s Art UK, they have individual pans as well as a few 12 color sets. This is so far the only source I have found that will ship them to the US. Thank you for this great review!
Hi Iris! Now Jackson is stocking them and I will be getting this set for Christmas I am excited. I think I am going to make my own set I ordered about 7 pans to play with before I buy a whole set. Love and light to you, your family and fur babies!
Happy holidays! Great idea, I'm sure you will love it! Check out my other videos about the brand, since this video they have come out with more sets, my personal favorite is actually their PASQUALINO FRACASSO SET OF 24, but go with the colors you love!
These paints look lovely and the packaging is absolutely stunning. Thanks for this review. I think they are a very good alternative but I am going to wait for your final "verdict". I use a lot of paint for crafting and it sometimes seems a bit of a waste to use those expensive (Schmincke) paints for something the recipient may throw out sooner or later.
Hi from Poland! Thanks for review. That 401 colour Przybysz is probably name of Polish artist, but literally „przybysz“ = newcomer :) I love Roman Szmal watercolour. In my opinion most of it have quality equally to the best watercolours brands.
Ohhhhh…Beautiful torture! These paints look really great and so reasonable. Sigh…I wish someone made them available for shipment to the U.S. love the swatch page with those great labels! Thanks for showing these!
Order from Jackson's. It's on sale now. I just bought a set of 5 to try out... in a big order. Shipping is almost nothing - which is why I have spent so much money on Jackson's this year!
They are my favorite paints! Their cobalt turquoise is so beautiful, more green than usual. They are expanding their range soon, they'll have some new colours they lacked, for example potter's pink. They are more easily avaible now.
Thank you for a lovely review, Irit! Truly beautiful paints!! I'm going to get some next week from a shop here in Finland. :) They stock the whole range and sell online too, also for international shoppers.. The shop is diverse.fi. ;)
Haven't used them long enough to have a strong opinion. On paper, according to their claims they are artist grade, great pigments, excellent lightfastness. On first and second impressions most colors are intense, the ones that granulate do so beautifully. Some disperse faster than others, just like other brands. They rewet and mix beautifully. If one can't afford the brand you mentioned and can get their hands on these, it's a great option!
Hi Michael! I'm sorry I didn't see your comment, it's only a fluke that I checked these, since RUclips only notifies me on new comments, so next time if you have a question or just want your comment to be read write a new one (as opposed to responding to an old one ) :) I only have 2 or 3 old holland paints, they are really nice :)
Great to someone promoting non Chinese and non Russian (hiding behind western brand names) paints. I implore everyone to consider your choices … what type of regime you’re supporting when purchasing supplies. There are plenty of options out there.
There is another very beautiful Polish brand called Renesans you can get on Etsy. Lindsy from The Frugal Crafter does a review of them if you are interested. I was just looking at them yesterday to see if they had any in and they did, usually they don't cuz they go fast. I do like how these are presented though, but I'm a sucker for a nice wood paint box 😊
i bought a paint set in krakow 14 yrs ago and didnt see those, shame, mind you, the little set i bought was brilliant, didnt think much of the paper though. while we re talking about krakow, its a lot cheaper to go by bus from the railway stn, rather than go on an organised tour eg if you get the bus from the railway stn to aschwitz its 20z and 15z for the tour, if you go on an organised tour from krakow its 300z and you go when they say youve got to go. thats how we did our tours
Just received the 36 full pan wooden box set in the mail from Poland! Almost too pretty to open, but when I sit down for some quiet time I will play!! They are impossible to get in the U.S.
418SurferGirl What website did you order from? I couldn't find the 36 pan set anywhere. Would you mind replying below with the site name? Thanks so much!
Great review, Irit, thank you so much! You mentioned in the video that White Nights pans are little bit smaller than Aquarius pans. Would you please measure the Aquarius pan for me? I couldn't find anywhere in online stores this information. I'd love to set up the palette and I'm wondering if 33 pans would fit the metal tin (21,5x8,7cm) where I have 33 White Night pans with some little dividers, so they don't move. Thank you for the answer in advance.
I have the 36-color White Nights box and I was thinking that I could add new colors or replace them with new Aquarius colors. Do you know if they are compatible?
Sorry for the late response, I was away on vacation :) Sadly, the Aquarius ones are not compatible in the White Nights plastic palette. But a metal tin would work with both. The Aquarius box will house the White Nights, but since they are smaller it's not a nice snug fit. For mixing brands I always go back to the classic metal tins, as they will fit any and every brand out there :)
They are extremely similar. Almost identical, same pigment. If I try hard to find a difference, English red deep is a tad less orange, but I think the Aquarius version of Indian red is more orange than most other brands...
Good luck!! Another viewer commented Jackson's Art Supplies (where I get my watercolors from) might be stocking them soon, hopefully that's correct and they will also stock the sets!!
I can't find anything in English. I got close, I got actual English ,but not American . I just wanted to know how much they cost. Still not sure, looks like less than one dollar, but that would be crazy.
Haha yeah they need to do sth about that ASAP... They cost similarly to White Nights. Incredibly affordable! You can calculate by yourself zloty to dollars and see. I think most of the pans were 10-13(for the expensive pigments) zloty.
@@iritlandgraf , ooh that's not good news for me. You see, I have a paint problem. It's much like a alcoholic has a problem with alcohol but with paint .And you opened up that lovely book of color swatches so I know they have more than just a few yummy colors to collect. So you see my problem? They are SO pretty and i would LOVE to try them out but if i get even one pan i will HAVE to get them all. Unless, of course, it turns out i don't t like them. Tell me they are terribly chalky when they dry and the color just flakes right off.hahaha it's true right? They're terrible to work with and i bet they smell bad too , nothing worse than stinky paints hahaha. Dont laugh, i actually have a stinky set of paints. Well dear, despite it all thanks for doing that review. Those are beautiful paints.🤗🎨
Horrible, terrible, stinky, chalky ;) I share your passion/obsession, I want all the paints!! But the more I use them the more I realize I have plenty, and I try to really focus on special paints. As much as I love trying out paints, at this point I really do it for RUclips reviews, so people can find a good match for their needs. I'm all about using what I have and looking for unique colors at this point, so if you already have some paints you love, grab them, paint and enjoy!
@@iritlandgraf , hahaha thank you but for some reason i feel you may be fibbing just a wee bit there haha. But seriously, i noticed they say they make them with honeyvso are they like the White Nights in that they are semi moist? If that's the case then i could just get the colors White Nights haven't made, yet. I still want a set of " normal" paints. Haha I'll let you in on a little secret, this isn't an obsession or a problem, actually, it's a right. I've raised 3 kids and a husband, watched them grow and move away ( yes, all of them. The cheating bass turd.), a couple of those kids have given me some beautiful grandbabies, and life has given me a number of disabilities. So, you see? I've earned those beautiful, glorious colors. They are literally the bright spots in our lives, I'm not alone in this. Nope, i have many brothers and sisters who rely on the magic of paint and paper or paint and canvas, markers and paper etc to forget reality for a time.. Don't feel sad, don't feel pity ( that's my job) just be glad we have people like you to help us make the right choices and learn how to use our precious goodies. 😊
Oh wow, yes you absolutely deserve them! And yes, they are very similar to White Nights. But they won't fit in the white nights palette... As much as I like these and the box and all that, I don't think they are better than other artist grade paint out there, though probably cheaper than many, but you would need a metal tin to fit them with other brands (or the 36 set box, but then again you can't combine with other brands so easily). Hope that helps!

How fun! Enjoy them!!

NOW AVAILABLE ON JACKSON ART ONLINE!!! YAYYY! BOTH IN SETS AND INDIVIDUALLY! I MET ROMAN IN AMSTERDAM & GOT THE SET OF 5 THERE, & JUST ADDED 8 MORE!
Thanks fantastic Cynthia! Enjoy your new goodies!
Beautiful packaging, swatches... everything! I liked

Renee try Diverse, I put a link in the info section. They are in Finland but I think they may ship worldwide...
Darn! Just got a mail back from Diverse. Shipping is too expensive to the U.S. will have to wait until Roman expands availability. Thanks Irit.

How do they stack up to Daniel smith, mission gold , old holland, m.graham, sennelier, schmincke?????

Definitely a hot topic. But are the people making the paint to be blamed for the regime they live under?

14 years ago those paints didn’t exist so no worries ;) It is a very new brand in Poland. They went to the market like 1 or 2 months ago.

Is the English red deep similar to Indian red? Or more pinky-red toned?

Me living in Cracow Poland where they are in every art store i know. They are hard to get? *Surprised Pikachu face*
Haha, yup, it's a big world out there, but since this video was made they have become more available 😊
is that khadi book you use for swatches?
Yes it is 😊
How do you like them now that almost ten months have passed? :)
Love them!
@@iritlandgraf Thank you! 😄
I have just been looking in every single site for the 36 set roman aquarius watercolor and no one sells it... dying here
Did you check the links I have in the video info section? Maybe it's worth contacting the brand and asking!

@@iritlandgraf fabulous!!!! loooove jackson's... cheers!!!
I could buy them via Jackson's Art Supplies and get them sent here in Canada. Everyone is saying good things about them.
Yup, if you don't mind full pans (some people prefer tubes or half pans), they are worth a try!
Cobalt violet advice made me giggle 🤣😊 #dirtymind #goodadvice
Have you tried Jackson's Cobalt Violet Light and Dark Hues? Only hues, but they are gorgeous and easy to rewet.
I have and I completely agree, it's a great option, although it doesn't have that extra something I enjoy in the traditional cobalt violets.
Is there a way to translate to English on the site?
Google translate? That's as far as I got! They really need to up their game if they want to appeal to the international market
