Hasn't aged well. Surely given the recent news, everything that Ariely has published will be called into question. Storytelling does not equal science.

I think psychology is way too heavily influenced by modern individuality and equality. Idk if similar expressions exist in other languages but the Chinese have an expression "a tiger does not eat it's own cubs" and I feel like it perfectly describes the situation here.

@@zakimuharam2978 We live in an equal society so to speak no kings or chiefs, marriage is an equal partnership etc. Thus we tend to think of people who don't treat each other as equals as fundamentally immoral and having mental disorders. But historically and in some parts of the world people are not equal and if you are a superior and you treat your inferiors equally you are seen as insane so it's really just a cultural issue and not psycological one..
@@HaoSunUW just because inequality has been around for a long time doesn’t mean it should be accepted. Generally you shouldn’t treat people as inferior or superior, that is damaging.
@@HaoSunUW also, in society’s where that treatment is normal, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t damaging to peoples mental healths and members of society, there’s very deep seated hatred.
