I thought the trilogy was unfortunately the weakest part of the album. Usually I am a sucker for suites, but this one did nothing for me aside from the death metal parts in Dancing Like Flames.
This song is so damn good. During the first play through of the album I remember hearing it thinking ok nice change up but by the time wrath was finished I couldn’t help but go back to Souless Existence and it immediately became a favorite and on repeat for a couple of days 🤘🏼🔥
This is literally exactly what I did 😂😂, didn’t even finish wrath before I was wanting more from soulless existence.
@@benliftin4awhileI listened to the whole album repeatedly but would constantly skip soulless existence. Eventually, I embraced it and it is my favorite song from the album. I kept skipping it, not because I didn’t like it, but because it made me feel things that I haven’t felt in awhile and it made me uncomfortable.
This song feels walking into the front of a storm then in and out of the eye constantly being hit by elements and not knowing if you’re out or not
I think this band is genuinely brilliant to the point that everything they do in their songs is intentional. The guitar "crying" is definitely done on purpose.
THANK YOU!! my favourite song this year and my favourite deathcore song of all time. probably one of my favourite songs ever, too. unbelievably amazing shit. this song always makes me tear up, the lyrics are so dark and sad as well. the guitar is absolutely beautiful i agree, the ambient strums in the background along with the solo, easily the best deathcore song i’ve ever heard.
Still my favorite song. Everyone speaks about the trilogy this the trilogy that, but this song did it for me. The first time, while reading the lyrics, just made me weep as the guitars went high "crying".
This song is so different from everything else, the pace is really soothing, the guitar in this is beauuuuutiful, especially the last part with the solo. Some vocal parts reminded me of Dani filth in some way, i really love this song.. and then at the end when he says 'Soulless existence', i always look forward to that ^^ Loved this reaction!
I love this track and I play it on repeat quite often. I want them to do a video for this song! This song is heavy imo.
Fun fact: This song is actually a bit of an inside joke for Lorna Shore as it is referred to an old episode of an MTV programme where a band was in the studio and the singer was asked to say Soulless Existence but it was so funny the way he was saying it. This has been told by Will Ramos himself in an interview, to which I will post the link to now: ruclips.net/video/CjmBXSFssWE/видео.html he speaks about it at 14:14 if you just want to go straight to that. But I recommend listening to the whole things as it's both interesting and so so funny towards the end too lol
This and the next 2 songs apart from Pain Remains trilogy are absolute gold!! But Soulless Existence is probably my favorite , that guitar work is just god tier!

it should not be possible for any human to make music this good, and yet here it is... would love to know what notes Will hits at the end when he goes high, it seems higher than waht he does in the one take of "To The Hellfire" around 03:00 in that video before the big breakdown, and one of the reactors said he hit an A-flat 6 in that one, and this sounds even higher to me..

I would say your emotion comes from the way he is performing the solo. I notice the solos on this recording are performed very lyrically which in my opinion aids in them being emotional. I get the same feeling that you do. I really enjoy your videos.

Definitely my personal favorite track on an excellent album. Also as someone who grew up in Alaska all of the devices of ice, snow, desolation, isolation, and the Tundra hit in a way that I’ve been trying to convey in my music for years and I grew up with a very real landscape to use as a base. When I listen to this song I can close my eyes and remember what it felt like to grow up not only in the darkness of the Alaskan Winter but also struggling to deal and balance with the internal darkness that tried to snuff what little warmth I had in those days. This is an excellently constructed and executed piece and I’m glad that there has been so many great conversations started within the community by such a moving piece of art and music. I hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween. Cheers!
