- “As you know, we don’t allow clapping. But this is an exception.”
A lawmaker returned to work on Wednesday, six months after sepsis put him in a coma and forced the amputation of his hands and feet.
Britain's fractious politicians shared a rare moment of unity by welcoming him back with a standing ovation.

It's awesome to see lawmakers show so much respect and especially a sense of humor.
Why wouldn’t they they’re all on the same team.
Now can they do the same for all our veterans who lost limbs
It’s one guy. More than one veteran has prosthetic limbs
They do have prosthetic limbs what are you on about? Some chose not to wear them. Weight changes and other conditions can affect how well they fit as well and cause sores.
Yeah NHS ones are not going to be the same quality as this guy will probably have access to unfortunately @@Og-Judy
That’s incredible how he’s walking and recovering so well!
Congratulations! I too am Sepsis Survivor! Wishing you the best
Did you lose any body parts if you don't mind me asking?
Holy crap that's incredible 😮The human body is amazing
Actually it's more the human spirit that's amazing and great. Because that is why a lot of people in traumatic events survive. Their spirit kicks in and says I' am not ready to go to the other side.
So is medical technology
Congratulations Sir !! For being so brave and returning to duty. You're obviously well-respected and you were missed. I'm sorry for everything you went through. Good luck to you and your family. ❤
What a man ❤️
He looks like a cyborg I kinda love it
I thought the speaker was about to make a joke about him not being able to clap for a second 😬😂😂😂
Glad to see you back at work sir. May God's blessings be with you.😊❤
GOD BLESS HIM ! Welcome back SIR ! Blessings from Michigan USA
Blessings 👏
The vast difference between the British parliament and the US Congress is world's away. At least SOME countries lawmakers know how to work across the aisles to get laws passed for the good of the citizens 🤦🤷
Wonderful!!
Blessings from Asia🎉🎉🎉
Good luck !!!! Keep going, one day at a time.
Wow! I mean thats great an all but there should not be one wounded vet waiting on theirs. Wow.
Good on him for returning to work. I've noticed that men who lose a hand generally request a functional hook over a cosmetic prosthesis. Unless they have a career that involves lots of public interaction, such as a lawyer, physician, actor, politician and religious leader.
Even those individuals usually also have a hand-shaped prosthesis, in addition to their hook / claw prosthesis.
Wow!
He's a Member of Parliament, an MP, so a Regional Politician rather than a 'Lawmaker' per se!
Gods blessings the courage man !!!!
Because of changes in the tax code hands and feet can be substituted for an arm and a leg.
Love it!
My oldest brother lost his life to sepsis.
Well done, Sir!
🙏
Praise God for him
It must be so nice to be a citizen of a country where lawmakers appear to get along and respect each other. 💙
Hahaha let me know when you find such a country this is a very out of the norm quite insincere display as this gov in particular has done terrible things for disabled people and funding in those areas in the last ten years.
What a man!
A sign to make better laws I’d say
And then Sunak found him fit for work.
Alcohol is poison
I wonder how he got sepsis?
🎉🙏🏽🎉🙏🏽🎉🙏🏽🎉🙏🏽
Such a brave Guy,Bless him❤
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
May god bless him and give him relief ❤❤❤❤
It's more important to know what he has done as a lawmaker
God bless you keep you safe all your days
Respect sir remarkable man I wish you luck good health and all the luck amazing positive man
How dreadful, bless him ❤
How awful. Well done you. 👏👏
Wasn't there another from the Tory's that got sepsis as well?
Well done❤
I have no idea what this is going on.
The gentleman lost his hands and feet to a sepsis infection. He was in the hospital for a while and is now back on the House of Commons.
sepsis?
Is okay ,seems he rich corruption got all robotic arms and legs back...bad news for veteran coz they dont afford
They think hes a hero?
For going to work?
Guess it shows you how much everyone loves there hands and feet?
Strange behavior.
What is this babble?
As I recall, you can die from sepsis. The gentleman nearly did--but lost his hands and feet in the process.
Congratulations to this man victory🙏🏿,...as a black man I'm so happy that Swizz and Alica keys are still together,..however ATL use to be a awesome city..now it's hood and the crimes is ridiculous 💯
Karma
What a horrible thing to say. This man is a decent man, recognized as such by MPs across the political spectrum, and didn't deserve to lose his limbs to sepsis. So, NO, it is not karma.
A robot😂😂😂who caused Palestinian sufferring😮😮
Get back to work, you went elected not to work, its fine you cant write or have trouble walking everywhere now.
