Any comment denying the existence of colorism and its impact on Dark skinned black women in particular will be deleted. We don’t spread false info, gaslight, or deny people’s experiences on my page! Thank you
I agree with your point! Colorism is definitely real, and disgusting. I am someone who doesn’t really experience it nor understands how it feels due to having some sort of skin tone that isn’t constantly targeted by black people. It makes me sick to see black people especially dark skin women go through colorism. I come from a long line or “mulattos”/ biracial grandparents and white grandparents and they still have colorist views. I think the only reason most of us who are a little darker than them don’t get discriminated against because we all tend to have looser curls. It sucks that people rather stay blind to the problem then to address the toxicity of colorism. I also think brown skin privilege exists as well especially when someone is brown skin and has more Eurocentric features and looser hair textures and such. I definitely understand and know I have privilege, and I would never weaponize against anyone, nor care to live off my privilege. Thank you for making this video! I hope I was able to give some insight. ❤
I also would like to say that I don’t understand why anyone would have an issue with you bringing up ice spice. I like her aesthetic and all but I do think she got to the top so fast for her look and skin tone. Anyone who wants to deny this is a weirdo. You shouldn’t be getting dragged for these things when you speak nothing but facts. Many people are colorist and have internalized colorism. Hopefully they can receive your message.
I love the time and effort you put into your topics. It's hard to find people who do real research as opposed to just having an opinion without any roadmap to show how they got to their point. Looking forward to part 2 and 3!
Your content is so great! I’m glad I found your work and am an early subscriber. Colorism is an issue in the Latino community too, and I really appreciate the time you take to share your research/experience/thoughts!
I hope you don’t mind, but I removed your other comment where you said that colorism doesn’t affect people in the modern age, because not only is that just wrong but it’s also gaslighting and extremely rude to dark skinned people who have to deal with colorism in their day-to-day life, and I like to try to create a safe space on my page which means monitoring people who deny the experiences of marginalized groups. Hope that’s OK.

Thank you I try 😭
Yes - this is the kind of intellectual content I crave!! So many people just spout off 😭 This series is AMAZING.
The way you set your point up and led into 12:40 was so satisfying, chef’s kiss 🤌🏾 and tell em again!
😂 it was masterful. I didn’t even realize it until after the fact
