Can You Shoot Cinematic Video on a $10 Camcorder?

I bought a Sony Handycam DCR-SR85 for $10 and wanted to see if I could make cinematic films with it. It definitely has a nostalgic vibe!

I dont know what he did, ( this is just an aclaration, not hate) but I have that same camera and:
1. 0:00 I think he's using the lowest quality mode, because I have it, and it films much better than that.
2. 0:48 You can change the resolution of the video if you want to in the settings.
3. 1:17 The touch screen is not AWFUL, is just that the buttons are small on the sides, and its dificult to touch them.
4. 1:42 The optical zoom is great, I think the one you bought is malfunctioning or something.
5. 2:08 THE AUDIO QUALITY IS AMAZING, yea, y think yours is malfuntioning.
6. 2:29 Its literaly on the media settings, you can manual everything.
Its really not hate, I liked the video, I said all this to the people that want to buy it or something... 🤯🤯

Would be awesome to use it for a reminisce scene to show how dad's filmed their family back in the 80's and 90's when cams were on the verge of becoming casual. Great episode. Thanks for sharing.

i have a mini DV tape camcorder from like 24 years ago and i`m going to keep it because it can also remind one of what was going on in ones life at the time you had the camera.

Honestly it doesn't look like home movies, it looks more like broadcast tv from the early 2000s.

I can see that, I think it looks like both, depending on when you grew up. I grew up in the early 2000s and this is what my home movies looked like.
