How to Remove Scuffs and Scratches from Leather Sneakers [Stan Smith]

- This is a tutorial on how to fix scuffs and scratches on your white sneakers. My Stan Smiths are scuffed to death and this whole thing actually took two hours of layering and painting and drying and repeating the whole process. It's really therapeutic since we're all stuck at home with nothing to do, but on a normal day, I'm not sure if I would recommend this.
Anyway, the paint is amazing for normal small scratches, it makes them almost completely disappear. These are just the most messed up shoes I have right now and it was SO satisfying cleaning them up.
Items needed
- Angelus Leather Acrylic Paint in Flat White
- Any Acetone based Nail Polish Remover
- Cotton Pads
- Cotton Buds or Small Brush
Tips and Tricks
- Apply a thin layer, wait for it to dry, then apply another thin layer. [Repeat x1000 or until your back hurts]
- A smaller brush will blend better but a cotton bud will do in a pinch.
- Small eyeshadow or eyeliner brushes seem to work best

My kids want to have Nike airs in white sooo badly! And I can really not afford new ones. You have NO IDEA how happy you made them, they did not even realize that they are used!
Respect for playing Chopin as the background music, nocturnes 2 is one of my favorite classical pieces
I can't thank you enough! I washed my Stan Smith's the wrong way and I scratched them by accident. But this restoring method fixes the scratches; thank God! Thanks you! 🙌
is that a white paint he is using? or is it a paint only of leather threads?

Did you try this paint? If yes then does it stay there for a while? Or does it just get cracked again like before?
@@anonymousydk Yes, I tried it & worked pretty well! Paint is still looking good! Remember, this product is not going to fix the cracks; it's for peeled off paint.

Long story short she cleaned them with nail polish remover then painted them with white acrylic paint.
Apparently the best way is to paint them and then film in a lower resolution
its 1080p, there's very little noticeable compression and noise. Probably due to his editing software

Why does your dad make you clean his shoes? No other children get threatened with death for not polishing their fathers shoes. You should tell a trusted adult about this treatment

I can only find Angelus White acrylic paint, do I have to get Flat white paint or will white look just as good?

What if ya shoes got a deeper scuff? Like the kinda scuff you get from ghost riding an electric scooter at around 20MPH on asphalt.

I thought acetone was bad for leather? Please explain why you used acetone to clean the leather???
Think it kinda strips a layer of the original paint so the new paints sticks better. Wait for it to dry though.

You have to paint a clear layer over the top and once they cure you can clean and wipe them as much as you want. Angelus brand makes everything you need to clean, paint and restore shoes. They also have matched all the Nike colors in their collector’s edition set. They are the best leather paints I have used and they are no more expensive then regular acrylic paint. :)

You were supposed to sand down the scratches, use leather filler, sand again, then paint the shoes....smh. You can't take short cuts. It looks tacky.
Well it isnt like They're your shoes...at least they look better than they did before she repaired them her way.

Dependable. Classic Stan Smiths are great when beaten up, but too many scratches kill the vibe. I'm about to paint mine and could send you "before and after"
