I hope they make a factory edition 350 that would be sick, great review Josh and I hope Michael keeps making podiums so you can clown on him in the post race conference
totally agree, i was talking about this today because i’d love a factory edition but don’t want to leave my 350 for a 450 and then be in the same boat i was before when i stepped down to a 350
@@panjitriprabowo3603 the biggest difference is weight and power delivery. The 350 feels and handles like a 250 but makes just enough power it can be ridden like a 450 for example you roll through most corners in 3rd and lug a 350 and a 450 vs a 250 probably has to be down in 2nd to achieve the same speed. It may seem like we'll just down shift and shift back to 3rd out of the corner and thats great for younger more energetic riders guys riding 350s are mostly vet riders and we are lazy and not any where fit enough to ride a 450 to its potential and to lazy to ride a 250 to its potential so the 350 fits in perfectly. Side note Tony Cirolli won most of his championships on a 350 up against 450s so they can be ridden with skill faster than a 450 also. Most testers and people that have raced both 450s and 350s think a 350 is the perfect balance of handling and power
Great review Josh! Bike looks really sweet. Hope it performed better then it has thru 4 rounds of SX. Guess they will figure it out. Looks good outdoors!
Josh has fantastic style! Looks really good on this machine. Being that last year’s bike is the stock machine he chose to race a national on, his opinions of this new one have merit for me. Everyone’s complaining that it isn’t working as well as last years bike. What’s up with Mookie then? He’s on the same damn bike!
Another solid review from MXA! Cool you guys brought out the current 450 Factory Edition to ride back to back. Did the new 450FE engine have any less (or more) vibration than the current model? Does the all new chassis have a more (or less) compliant feel over the bumps? Please make a video of your ride at GH on the new FE's!
Beautiful bike. Definitely a KTM fan. Making my choice harder between this bike and the KX 450 Sr. Kinda stinks they couldn't include the Bluetooth module right now because of supply chain issues.
Just got mine this Weekend - Sitting beside my 2021 it was Pretty disappointing in the fit-finish category Looks like a "Prototype" .. I get it's 1st year but this is not what I call "Factory Edition by the standards set by KTM in 2016 - 2019 - 2021. BUT riding it is Faster & SMOOTHER than my 19 with CV. Spot on assessment Josh ... Although you do have me SCARED to try the QS thingy ... Needs update on availability of exhausts - Air Filters etc as soon as they are available .
ETA on the Husky? My dealer has March shipment on my deposit, but still pumped for the test, even though it's basically the same, still appreciate the detailed test.
Excellent review as usual ! …….. we are depending on you guys to let us know where the new 2022 FE gained 6lbs in weight compared to the previous generation , skid plate and brake disc are probably 1lb is the rest of the weight mostly the stiffer stiffer swing arm ??
are those engine covers plastic? that would be a really bad design if they are because crashes always make the bike end up on a side so if a rock was to crash the crank case cover then ya screwed.
Wait, did you say someone was hitting the kill switch on their sports bike to change gear?! 😂 I have ridden and raced sports bikes for over 20 years and have literally never heard of anyone doing that - it would be no quicker than just doing a clutchless upshift (pre quick shift)
Very subjective, all depends on how you ride and what suits you best as their isn't really a "best" bike. The kx does things better than the ktm and the ktm does things better than the kx
@@tcmx712 I’m a taller heavy rider 6,1 110kg - free rider go on tracks hit jumps come off etc go in Bush what would you suggest over the kx and ktm for me. I just come off a yzf450 21 model
It’s disappointing that KTM makes the gas gas and Husky as clones it really kills the parody in the sport love that they saved those brands but wish they made them unique.
Sounds to me as if you haven't actually ridden/owned all three brands...each model feels pretty different, as well as each model has it's own chassis/engine components and accessories that give a different feel on each...I used to like Husqvarna the most, however Gas Gas tickles my fancy the most now since it is a blend of KTM & Husqvarna, with its own twist! Go give em a shot, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised in the difference between the machines! Oddly enough, I've ventured into TM Racing & Honda now, and these two machines (my 2 stroke TM Racing EN300ES & 4 stroke Honda CRF450R) are my favorites after owning Suzuki, Yamaha, Husqvarna (and now Honda & TM)!!! These machines are fun, and that's what the goal in life is - to have fun & ENJOY the rifing experience!!

Bike looks cool..I'm gonna stick with trusty&paid for KTM 300 sx..it's easy to work on&way cheaper to rebuild.
Same here my friend. Have 15 yr old ktm 300 still very reliable and very powerful bike.
2021 factory is imo the best looking dirt bike
Agreed
I just bought this gear set.... good advertising:-) Now looking for red boots. Alpinestar's are sold out. Maybe go with SG12's.

We didn't notice big difference in vibration on the first day. The new chassis has a more compliant feel over the bumps!
Suppose to absorb vibration better throughout! Getting a leftover '23 KTM 450SXF in few wks. Local dealer has 1 left in the box. Can't wait . -Ohio

Do these bikes require more maintenance than the Japanese bikes - valve adjustment, etc.?
Are they coming to the uk 🇬🇧
KTM needs to fire whoever designs the side number plates
tru
I like the fact the kill switch is on the right side- If you think about it most street legal bikes have it this way.
Ktm,gasgas, husky, just ain't cuttin it this year
Gasgas is?
How do you figure that, AP, and Mookie both have podiums, Webb started slow last year, and he's starting slow this year.
I’m buying a 350xcf or the 450xcf. I’m older 6ft 5in 235lbs. Not racing just some trails and desert riding. Which one???
Great video. I just ordered one today, should have it, hopefully, next month. This will be my first KTM 4 stoke.
I like that KTM makes factory editions in 250 and 450 I wish Honda would make a works 250
when will u do the 250
so the old cone valve forks will work on this chassis
Yes!
Josh Good test.
Thanks Evo!
Sick! Wish it didn’t have a orange frame though.
Great video. Look forward to seeing one up close. Very much out of my realm of worth the $$$ but a sweet looking bike nonetheless.
Sounds like They tried so hard for it to be a better frame for supercross and abosorbing bumps but the pros are struggling with that exact thing .
