How to make a Modern flower arrangement - HOW TO ARRANGE FLOWERS IN FOAM

This week I've created a design that uses some exotic Anthuriums and a simple stem of Vanda orchids all grouped together to create drama and interest. A dominant line of Anthuriums draws your eye to the centre of the arrangement and directs you to the beautiful orchid.
This arrangement follows patterns and structure to make a formal design with a soft subtle colour scheme, its been arranged to be viewed from the front and is ideal for the modern environment. This style can be used for a reception desk, a modern entrance hall or even as a feature on a side table.

What gorgeous colouring, & I just love that vase, & the arrangement. It's so pretty & simple. My suggestion on the dish is to paint it in the same colour as the vase. This will then harmonise the whole piece, I feel. Even if a Lomey dish had been used instead, I still would have painted it. But in saying this, it's really each person's own idea what they think suits, isn't it. Thanks once again Sharon, for this great tutorial.

Sharon, Lovely arrangement! What I always do is fill the vase with water so that the arrangement is not top-heavy. (No moss for this arrangement either.)

Yes you can fill the vase with water, this always worries me though in case someone bumps into the table and all the water spill everywhere! Its something that always fills me with anxiety!

Thats beautiful Sharon. I like the colour of the Anthurium, I haven't seen that one before, nor the Vanda Orchid, which complement each other really well in your vase. It's nice to see you using the lilac aswell which is lovely but doesn't seem to be used very much and often has a lovely perfume! I must look out for the Phlebodium aureum grey fern too. Thank you.
