My step father was a big fan of Dire Straits, he's got quite an extensive collection including their live in Australia. I remember every Sunday morning, he used to put on one of these albums and play "all the chords" with his Gibson. And of course I woke up on these sweet melodies. He gave that guitar to me when he retired, I still play on it sometimes. He passed away a few years ago, but everytime I think about these Sunday mornings, I felt safe and warm. A kind of "feeling like going home"...
I remember whenever he did the duet with Tom Jones. Jones went and knocked on his door and said Mark, and Mark answered and says I've been called worse😂
Should have just "sung" with his guitar ... why? Because he's one of the very few who can, and even fewer can match the way Charlie Rich rendered the song Come to think if it, Charlie Rich with MK would've been the ideal timeless classic ...
