It does seem like it doesn't make any sense, but I know exactly how you feel. I always find myself hating my work and cringing at some of the content I talk about. Because I care so much about my work, naturally I want it to be perfect. But at the same time I always want content creation to be fun and enjoyable, since it's my passion in life. So I'm always stuck with this dilemma of Should I create content I love? Or should I create content that will get a lot of views? This ends up being super annoying and more of a distraction than anything.
What has been working for me lately is this idea of "1 for you. 1 for me." A really successful youtuber told me this once. He said that he maintains his sanity by rotating the kinds of videos he posts. One week he will create a video related to his niche, on a topic that is informative and searchable. Then the following week he will post a video that is 100% carefree and fun. And he will post it regardless of how shitty it turn outs or how bad the editing looks. This probably isn't the best strategy to grow a youtube channel. However, for him it keeps content creation fresh and fun. Which ultimately results in him being a much more consistent content creator. I don't know if any of this is helpful Joona, but I figured I'd share my thoughts. Keep creating dude!

RIght! It's a constant struggle trying to balance between the most fun thing you could create at the moment and on the other hand your long-term strategy or whatever you want to call it. So relieved to hear that other people also feel this way!
1 for you, 1 for me actually sounds like a really good idea, I've been thinking about similar things but haven't quite been able to boil it down as simply as that. Thanks for the tip Derek!

As a Creative, no matter what genre you choose, you will doubt yourself & think "My Art Sucks". The level of insecurity that Artists deal with is Huge! I only actually started to truly feel and call myself an Artist within the past 5 years. The process you are going through is very common with Creatives. Finding your Voice, experimenting with your chosen Artistic Passion and truly being comfortable in your own skin are like some kind of Rite of Passage for Artists, Creatives.... My suggestion to you, based on the fact that I have been there & come out the other side.... Research some books on Artistic Mindset, one book that I read that really gave me a realistic perspective was " Big Magic" Creative Living Beyond Fear, by Elizabeth Gilbert. Never stop being creative & creating if that is your True Passion! You can work through this.... Just a suggestion hope it helps you.

The most dreaded question one can ask themselves as a creative being in the business way too long, "Is this cool?"
Man, you can drive yourself nuts with that rabbit hole.

Same here man I have worked for three to four years on this content creation dealio but every time every project I work on pewters out and dies. I have tried every platform, I have tried all the hacks, and the methods, and read, and even bought some of the courses to. I just don't know what to do. I want this more than anything man but every time I just end up crying myself to sleep with nothing to show for hundreds of hours of work. I just can't even anymore. It sucks alot alot but hey I am still trying to make it (i've kinda given up) so don't give up... I guess

I'm having exactly the same problem. I want to make a long Stop Motion video, but I can't start, because I'm afraid to do so.

Haha "first world problem " funny but problem are always problem it doesn't matter what, if it is problem it is a problem never underestimate it Just fix it.
People take their life for " stupid thing"
Because its not a matter of the size of the problem but the effects it has on people.
    😄Sorry for talking alot.
