I think Hardlex is fine at a certain price point. It does scratch but I prefer it over regular mineral crystal. Once you get over about $500 (which i admit is a bit arbitrary) I think its time for sapphire.
i purchased a SARY024 about 8 years ago, which essentially has the same layout. There wasn't much info on it at the time so I was dissapointed to learn that the subdial wasnt a second time zone. The overall look of this SSA453 is much better in my opinion. I am rough on my SRP775 so the hardlex was getting its fair share of licks. I swapped it out for a domed sapphire and couldnt be happier with it.
It’s not that hardlex is that bad, it’s just anachronistic. Every major and micro brand offers sapphire at this price point. It’s just unacceptable in today’s market.
Rename your channel “Rabid Seiko Fanboy “. You get so excited about these pedestrian watches, defending mineral crystals and open heart on a 4R movement. Other than that, good channel.
This watch has a very cool everyday wear look. Interesting direction from Seiko. Looks like a perfect vacation timepiece.

I have 3 hardlex Seikos, and 2 of them have small scratces on the crystals...
Lies , post video
interesting timepiece very nice🎉🎉
in amazon that watch is listed as having sapphire crystal
Smart looking watch apart from the strap . Had many many hardlex and never had a problem never wear a nato style strap 😮😮😮
That's a shame, I only wear nato!
Man that’s nice
Can we change the strap, or does it need a specific one ? Thx

amazing
I have three seiko 5 that have hardlex one over 10 years two 6 years not a mark on them hardlex no problem
Website says 40.8mm DIA and 12.8mm thick.. 😛
But really, that's a pretty nice watch. Something I'm going to consider.

But what extreme activities are you doing everyday that you need a saphirre crystal? Hardlex wont scratch just chill.
@@slayerfan545I’ve had many and they do scratch, but you’ve missed the point. Sapphire is objectively better and the standard in horology now.
I mean there are less reflexions on hardlex…but yeah they could also put a sapphire in
wait a minute, did i miss it?
I just cant get excited about open heart watches
Not an open heart guy that this looks stunning on the wrist... Hardlex is crappy tho
The Seiko gets a 👍.
