Cool shots. Whenever I'm working out of the CDOT yard on Bosworth Ave. I always jet up Elston Ave. to see if I can catch some impromptu switching action. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome Video! It would be absolutely awesome if CTM could take over this operation to service Blommer, Morton and Tribune, has CTM ever attempted to do so or are they not really interested?
@WhiskeyCentral Thanks! Yah it would be crazy! They might have tried, but its been strictly C&NW to UP for a wile. Maybe if the UP leases it, but I don't see it happening any time soon.
I'm guessing this conductor might be the regular on this job. If i'm not mistaken, he retired in 2015 or 2016. At 12:30 the conductor is riding the bottom step across a public grade crossing, not good. At 12:37 horrible hand signs, he made a gesture that looked as if he was motioning the motorist to cross. At 12:40 how do you cross in front of the moving equipment to make a joint while it is that close together? And finally, how do you give a backup signal to the engineer that is on the opposite side you are on? LOL? If he trained me, i'm glad i didn't pick up his bad habits.
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to uncover how do i get a job on the railway try Tarbetti Rail Work Tutor (just google it ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate got cool success with it.
I made a playlist of all your videos from Northside chicago

Will you post an address or landmark that would allow me to find this street running/switching track on satellite pics?
