The reason why i was able to relate to Ash na more in RR than a punjab or delhi is that they gave you a free hand to express yourself and also your rapport with samson was legendary. We'll miss such positive aura on the field.

I think this year's IPL retention conditions are the most relevant rules ..
It can be said that it is suitable for all teams.
Eg : 1)Retaining 5 players - CSK, MI, KKR ,SRH, RR
2)No condition of Indian & overseas players - MI , SRH
3)Uncapped rule - CSK, PBKS
4) If less no.of retentions the respective teams will get into auction with heavy purse than the other teams - RCB,PBKS, LSG, GT ,DC
5) New rtm rule (Extra one bid for the players after the respective team claim the rtm )
It can give the fair value of players
6) Ban of 2 years for overseas players if they pulled out after they got picked..
So all the 10 teams can use these rules to make their teams strong title winning teams.
We can't rule out any team because of the new retention rules.
So, Definitely it's going to be exciting

After a lackluster tournament between 2019-21, forming a good core was the only way ahead for RR. They had kept it simple with the retentions by retaining Sanju, Jos Buttler and Yashaswi Jaiswal. They were one of the most proactive teams in the auctions. Initially they made sure to strengthen their bowling lineup by getting Trent boult and Ashwin who were gonna give them solid 8 overs. On the very first day, they had alao heavily invested on Shimron hetmeyer and secured a good finisher in him. They also showed enough patience and got Yuzvendra chahal which further enhanced their bowling limeup. Another reason RR as a team stood out for me was the faith they showed in the domestic players starting from Riyan Parag, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Sen, Navdeep Saini, Dhruv Jurel, Tanish Kotian, etc. The team on the whole was a really well settled unit yet I felt that the team struggled in the second half of the 2023-2024 seasons and I believe they will address these concerns. Trent Boult's wicket taking ability in the powerplay is one of the major reasons for RR's successful compaign in the last 3 seasons. He is underrated, If i was in RR management i will try to retain him through RTM. Because i felt there is a lack of good foreign fastbowlers in the last three years of IPL who adapts themselves to Indian conditions. Rabadda somehow was not impressive in the last stinct. And among the newer lot only Pathirana looked deadly. RR knew if they leave Trent Boult then MI will catch him to create the deadly Bumrah- Boult pair again. For me Boult is still the No:1 Overseas powerplay bowler. He is an asset for any team if RR leaves him. He will definitely go more than 10 cr this time. Last time many marquee players like Boult, Shami, Ashwin have gone less because many teams thought that they wont be able to get them and they were not even in their plans and in the second day many unknown players went to higher amount due to necessity.
The three year journey with rr ash na has put of lot of efforts for the franchise growth .it is good to see sanju samson and ash na playing together the communication between sanju samson and ash na like "anda saniyana veliya nikka sollu " these are the funniest things i have enjoyed in three year, if your going to any other teams i really miss u because rr has lot of emotions from you like "HALLA BOL KONJOM NALLA BOL "miss u ash anna 🥺💗

As a CSK fan, I feels worried whenever Ash Anna plays against them, especially at Chepauk, where he's known for mastering the conditions. In 2023, RR defeated CSK at Chepauk, with Ash na earning the Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance with both bat and ball. I believe that when Ash Anna plays at Chepauk, the match tends to be one-sided.

I think Indian middle order batsman will have a high demand in the auction. Players like Shreyas, SKY, Sanju will mostly be retained. So only few proven Indian Middle order batters like Shivam Dubey,
Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish rana will be available at the auction and they will go big as teams now know that they need Indian middle order batter to tackle spin in the mid overs. In last few years many teams struggled with ovverseas bignames in the middle but Hardik pandya(2022), Dube(2023) were underrated in their teams victory. And if teams like PBKS, RCB, LSG understands this then it will be a blockbuster auction for the Indian Middle order Batters.
Last time with less auction purse itself Rahul tripathi, Nitish rana and Tewatiya gone above 8cr. Though everyone thinks that this auction is gonna be fast bowler's auction like the Last Mega auction, i think Indian middle order batters will gonna be the apple of everyone's eye and they are gonna fetch big. ( I think Ambati Rayudu is the most underrated player in this category and he played a vital in many of CSK's and MI's victory. Hope teams will understand the value of Middle order batsman who are mostly unsung as they cant get enough balls like openers to score big nor they will get less balls like finishers to sparkle. Their role serves as a bridge between those two & is very important for a team's survival.)

Hi Ash. Regarding the deadline for uncapped players, i believe it should either be the date of retention rules announcement or the date of the final of the previous IPL edition(Like IPL 2024 Final ). If the concept of retentions and RTM was based on the squad on the last day of previous edition of IPL, let uncapped player qualification be of the same date. This creates a static goal post instead of a Moving Goal post for the Franchises. Franchises are given a month to decide their retentions. But what if they want to retain someone and then he gets a cap one or two days before the deadline. All their planning goes for a toss. So ideally the date of a player being uncapped should be the date of IPL final of the previous edition.

The reason why I was able to relate to Ash anna more in RR than a KXIP or DC is that they gave you a free hand to express yourself and motivates many junior players llike Jaiswal, Jurel, etc.. and also you make a comeback in White Ball Cricket while you playing in RR only. So again I like Ash na to go to RR rather than CSK in 2025... ❤

My retentions and statergy for RR to beat any team in the IPL is as below:
1. Sanju Samson (SR 132.49)
2. Jaiswal (SR 164.31) - opening pair constantly try and score without loosing a wicket for first 6 over or may be 1 wicket in 6 over for at least 6 matches of the total number of matches. They will reach a score of 53.41 runs (aprox) at the end of 6 overs if they go at par with their respective strike rates.
3. Buttler (SR 146.30) score freely maximum bat for 4 over with full potential of his Stike rate. He would score 35.11 (aprox) runs at par with his strike rate. At the end of 10 overs we will have 88.52 runs Aprox 89 runs
4 .Riyan Parag (SR 111.76) job is to stand until the 17 overs and bat with the same strike rate which is not to risky yet about 46 runs can be added with no much risk. And up the scoring from 17-20. Even if gets 3-4 boundaries max his job is well done. We have 135 -150 runs aprox with these batsmen batting at their usually strike rate nothing fancy. Hence there would be an assure set of runs minimum scored everything above that is a bonus.
5. Get an Indian Batsmen who can score at (SR 150). This can really seal the deal in the batting unit. Now since we know 150 is going to par score how ever in which ever situation,pitch or ground we can build the bowling unit accordingly
6. Ash Anna has to be retained he’s the best spinner in the world and can also bat which can be useful in matches which can be close while chasing gives batting depth.
7. Prasidh Krishna would be key in the bowling attack.
Making this the core team and building a team around these core players would be the best chance in my opinion for RR to go all guns blazing in this IPL.

I think there is a lack of foreign death bowling options available in current t20 cricket circuit especially for IPL pitches. The best were our Indians Bumrah, arshadeep, Shami ( if he is fit). Archer is injured. Rabbada and Nortje seems less powerful after the last mega auction. On the other hand Indian fast bowlers like Mohsin Khan, Akash Deep, Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora looks so impressive. Looks like teams doesn't need to run behind foreign options in the upcoming years for fast bowling. There are many raw talents in the domestic circuit as well like Anshul Kamboj whose talent has to be polished and they need to be backed. Though our Pacers other than very few lack pace, they seemed very aware of their strengths and bowls according to it rather than trying to be Bret Lee or Bumrah. The only overseas fast bowler who impressed me genuinely in the last 3 years is Pathirana. His talent has been beautifully used by CSK. On the other hand Trend Boult always impressed as a power play bowler.
