It's a beauty. I never should have looked at this now I got to go check out my local online store.

For the money the laser stroke can't be beat. Its practical, nimble, does it all. It can prep food, it chops well, handles come off easy with any multi tool to be used on handle for a fishing spear. The divot and all that is gimmicky but NEVER say never in the outdoors.

Well, to be honest with you and anybody else I certainly don’t think that I would remove the screws from the handle to get to the Ferris rod because knowing myself, I would lose one of those screws in the brush and then I’d be screwed. Unless it was an absolute dire emergency

Gimmicky nonsense. I'd rather see a lower the price tag to lose the dumb survival rod. Even $10 less would be fine enough with me. It's a great knife design. I have wanted one for years but always buy something else. One of these days I might finally get my first Esee knife. Last time I chose the Tops Dragonfly 4.5 or "D-Fly" instead. It's a cool knife but I reprofiled it into a real scandiVex.
I think if I did get the Laserstrike, I'd definitely have to thin that edge a bit . Probably around 17° with convexed shoulders would do the trick.
