This is one of my top favorites of this power trio's renderings. James Slathery's acoustic piano work is as slick as a whistle. Add to this the superlative work (at all times) of RF, TB, and RB - the full package is derived. Robben sings so well - he is so under rated in his capacity to find the bull's eye vocally.
Robben's guitar has an acoustic tone(unusual for him) CARVIN SEMI-HOLLOW TELE STYLE, isn't it a beauty? Is this the guitar Robben used in the KFOG concerts at Yoshi's in the later 1990's (1996-7?) This more jazzy version of one of his favorite BB King songs, but in all honesty this version by Robben & his merry men, grooves better than any of this song on YT. When Roscoe plays the bass solo it has echos of Miles Davis' SKETCHES IN SPAIN. Just wish Robben lingered a little longer on his gorgeous solo, must have had a reason. What an amazing SYNERGY between these four!
Great execution here, all of them as one Whole in that moment , that means execution is quality. The jazz quote for all of us hipsters around 2:152:16 from piano player cements the approach bass player turns his head big smile acknowledgement. Slightly up tempo for a change and whole band up for it, fantastic.
version, yes I also feel this! Did you also notice the guitar he's playing, the tone & Robben's playing are gorgeous!! (btw if u want to edit this comment just click on the right side dots.)
@@brachashighhopeshomestead226Yes, the guitar is the reason why this version is even more different. The semi acoustic thing is the closest we will get to him playing unplugged. Thanks for the tip btw 😉
yep! That's James Slattery, if you google him you will be very surprised at his accomplishments. He is just the kind of musician that we like to hear with Robben & the Bluelein here, what a synergy! Robben's playing is even inspired to new heights with this bruh.
@@tymanngruter1808 THANK YOU!!! Gorgeous sound. Do you know if this is the guitar Robben played with the 1996 or '97 at Yoshi's on KFOG radio concert? there's no video on YT of this Concert but audio...it's EXCEPTIONAL with special guest musicians & the Bluelein.
Roy Buchanan knew he couldn"t sing, so he stick to the giutar, and hire a good singer. If Ford schould do the same,I think so,hhat do you think, you think Rob is a great singer, or? Yes i know, a singer creates problems, expensive, tend to be divas, butthey carry their load.
B. have you listened to Robben for a while? His voice grows on you because of the phrasing & expressiveness & often his singing is better. But I personally find it intriguing. Some can't spell well, but write interesting thoughts to ponder....

FUCK ME!....This is bliss on tap!
That keyboard throwing a little salsa in there lol tasty
Love it, but why was Robben's solo so short...?
Good question; maybe he wanted to showcase the pianist?
c'est un guitariste classé parmi les cent meilleurs selon Rolling Stone ce qui est une référence

"Help The Poor" was written by Charlie Singleton.
Help the Poor - written by B B King
B B King first recorded the song, but it was written for him by Charles Singleton.
@@gravelinacup it is an amazingly better blues song. so many are just complaining songs, this one is more inspiring.
