NICE beautifully shaped plants they become. and the small yellow flowers smell like freshly cut celery.

Surigao is a place/island in the Philippines and this plant is where it came from or discovered. It is pronounced as in Suri-gaw as in ‘aw’ and add ‘ensis’ to it. Hope this helps. It’s a beautiful island, btw. 👍🏻 TFS this plant and hope to come by it in the future. My best friend cousin who lives in the Philippines right now in an island close to Surigao said how ironic it is that these and most hoya plants are so expensive and hard to find even in Asia.

Very nice species, does it grow with ease in a normal livingroom?

Great video! Always love your videos. Can't wait to see the pot full of cuttings great long and bloom for you. The other big leaf is so gorgeous but unfortunately I don't have space for big leaves ones. Thanks for sharing and happy growing!

35% humidity that is realy low did you measure that or just guessing? If true than this plant would be ideal for me.

I used to measure all the time. Unfortunately, it gets that low often in our house 🥲

I am just switching hoyas to leca. Do you have a water reservoir or do keep it dry?

I keep the plant above the water level in a vase. Leca then plant, then enough leca to cover roots and anchor the plant, then pour in nutrient water plus 2 drops hydrogen peroxide to the 1/3 full level. It creates a hot house effect as the leca & water sit in the vase in indirect sun with the plant. Be careful converting from soil to leca. I've had good and bad luck. One is fine and a couple died from the shock. Everything I propagated in leca and kept in leca are fine. I saw a utube with leca in the net pot with hoya and there was a second reservoir water pot. It worked very well that way too.
