Hi Becky and Ryan, nice try with the Bisara (we actually call it Baysar in the north of Morocco). But it shouldn't have used the paprika nor the lemon juice. just garlic, onions, salt and cumin and a lot of olive oil. you put everything at once et let it cook. while it's boiling you should remove the white gunk that acumulates. and then ounce it's cooked you blend it. Just if you wanna try it one more time
Becky usually most Moroccans do not add paprika to bissara ,whenever my wife makes Bissaraa she does it the same way you just did but without paprika because paprika removes the taste of feves , and she adds more olive oil at the end when she puts it on the bowl
Hahahahah guys you make me want bissara now hahahah it look yummmy😋😋😋 you really become morrocan now you made the whole food we are pourd of you guys showing our culture to the world we who need to thank you and apriacte plz dont go back to usa😭😂😂😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
actually my favorite moment in this vlog , it was the squeeze face 😆 😆 so for the bissara, really was beautiful representation and I hope it came out delicious..!!?
Hi guys , excellent try .there is no parsley and paprika and lemon juice in Bisara .cummin , salt, pepper, onion, and lots of olive oil and if you like it spicy put some chilly flakes. And blend it .
Heeeyy awesome video !! I gotta say Kristine recipe seems interesting ... I've heard through some of my friends that they add paprika and lemon too (lemon to ease up the gas typically found in fava beans) I can see how the paprika, parsley and lemon (typically used in "Harira" recipe) can add an extra flavor !! I'd be down to try it!!!!
@@BeckyandRyanTravel Good to know...it would be interesting to see a video where you remake your top fav dishes back home, I'm wondering if it will taste the same or it's just a myth thing hahah
That's a great bissara for lunch or dinner, you guys nailed it. For a traditional winter breakfast bissara, use salt, cumin, a pinch of red chili powder, olive oil and garlic for seasoning, so don't use the herbs, paprika and lemon. Use a blender to get a softer texture and add more water to make it thinner. You can make enough for 3 days, fridge it, and sever a hot bowl with olive oil and bread for breakfast in the cold winter mornings.
You guys u doing a great job ! Try to have this soup in street food courts or markets they make it so perfectly following the original recipe !! You can also use dry green beans to make the same Bissara soup
That's absolutely awesome how you learn the Moroccan culture under this period of time ,keep it up The moroccan culture is incredible starting with food, clothes ,habits and all of other things
Bissara ?? you really go deeper this time , it's really traditional beloved Moroccan soup almost everybody eat it in Morning during winter and cold weather any way you're impressive again , thanks and big up from Morocco
First time I see bissara cooked that way... as I know we use only fava been ,garlic and salt .. when it is cooked we ad olive oil and some hot chili peppers if you like hot dishes ... most Moroccans eat it during the winter when it s cold , specially in the moring..some present it with raw onions, olive and chili
North african countries were under the ottomans except Morocco that was an empire far from all the eastern traditions and culture that's why Morocco is unique than all other nations in the North of Africa
Bissara is the minestrone soup of morroco.... It's t a soup it's a meal it's both.... In AL hoceima we mix dryed peas and Fava beans we boil them for many many hours in water not tap but bahia (store bought mineral water ) And do all that you have done in addition to the mannnnnny hours of boiling...... Every town and village in the North has it s version of bissara (between us a nice merlot goes fine with the bisarra and if you make bissara back home in the USA sprinkle som fried bacon on it it will elevate the taste don't ask how I know) my wife tell s me there's is a pastry or a sweet roll of a sort called fakkas which is very popular and originally of tetouan you should try out with your tee By the way you guys have motivated me, so I m contemplating starting a channel about my farm and maybe cooking country side style..... Enjoy your stay in tetouan.. Stay safe, stay hydrated... snow camel out!!!❄️🐫
This looks delicious and the decorating by Becky makes the dish look luxurious. The color problem is that you have used a lot of red pepper, but that doesn't matter as long as it tastes great.
Since you've been to morocco for so long, I'd like to watch a video to see how fluent became your skills in Darija. I guess you got upto now thousands of vocabulary.
Alala yilali Alala yilali ayli al aila molaty, this is funny north accent song in Morocco it`s come with Bissara recipe wen you cooking it, Becky the way you chopped the herbs!! looks like you are good cook all you need the right equipment and good recipes, well done girl.
Enjoy! It's best if you use a blender to have a smoother texture without the lumps. It's so yummy! This soup is typical of the north of Morocco, but it's also a family regular dish across the country. There's a variant you can also use dried green peas. It's got a slightly lighter taste and texture. And yeah, you should go lightly with the paprika so that the cumin flavour stands out best. While serving too, some people add a drizzle of olive oil in a circular manner on top of the bissara in the serving plate/bowl.
the Moroccan food is a part of every country because they used to be ruled by the moroccan kings centuries a go that's why people in all over the world love the Moroccan food the 2th best food in the world after france

@@azadam1000 So Algeria and Tunisia ! But Bissara doesn't exit in these 2 countries ! So yeah it's not north african, it's typically moroccan. It's like if i say Guacamole is North american ! Nah it's not, it's Mexican, despite Mexico is located in North Amercia
If I may make a suggestion you guys should change the blog or channel you take recipes from if you want to make true traditional morrocan recipes I suggest the channel sousou kitchen she does recipes in English.
No vaccines are required here, but we took a battery of vaccines before leaving our home in the US, since we anticipated traveling around the world. We've been told to buy bottled water by to drink by several locals, but we haven't had any issues cooking with it. I (Ryan) actually drank the tap water all the time when we were in Rabat and never really had any issues, though.
Whoever wants this wonderful couple ❤to stay with us always in Morocco, their second country, presses the like button😍🌸
I would want that, but I guess that the choice is theirs. Though they're welcomed whenever.
