yeah this guy does a hose routing great but he’s like the only one on the Internet that does it for any Jeep! I’m hoping to find one for my 2004 but I gave up. I’ve been looking for my damn leak for four days now
@@runningoverland7656 I got no a/c leak I recharge it blowing hot air I do have evap leak. Do u got video for a/c if so can send me link. I got 98 xj
Did a cylinder head gasket replacement on my 88 Comanche, with doing that learned a lot about what all the different vacuum lines do and where they go. Since reassembling and reconnecting everything it has idled somewhat high but nothing crazy. Found out the hose from the manifold to the ball is just non-existent in mine, so its just sucking in air. I have been searching everywhere for what connects to it and where it goes to. Thank you very much for the video and explaining it all, finally able to fix it and hopefully runs smoother!
Thank you. My 89 was saved from the scrap yard, the previous owner had all the vacuum lines messed up or disconnected. Now it’s under the dash, he thought he was a mechanic he’s not Great video! Thanks
89 Comanche I have had all vacuum lines missing so yea not sure if you still check on your video but it came in tremendously helpful ! Thanks brother!!
Not sure if you're still tracking your channel, but this vid is a life saver. All my vac lines were cracked or missing when I bought my 1990 xj. Few vids on renix systems and fewer (like me) know how to work on them. Thanks for this vid!
Bought my 90 limited and half of these lines are either missing or plugged, this video is solid gold, so hard to make sense of the diagrams on google images. Thanks for the video.
Thanks a ton man. I just swapped my 88 Cherokee and in all my excitement, I snapped a ton of vacuum lines. Bought some aftermarket lines and rigged them all in. Jeep runs awesome now.
Thanks for pointing out the majority of the lines, very useful as a sanity check. I've been trying to ensure my 88 has all of its connections correct. Unfortunately at 4:02 "here's two more, idk where they go" - I also do not know where they go. They're both just dangling in my 88.

Thank you I needed a video like this! I have been going back to watch this because I'm trying to find a vacuum leak in my 1998 if you have any suggestions on where it may be please leave a time in the video!! Thank you it would help me a lot .
Thank you! I'd be thrilled to help but it's really hard to diagnose without being there. I've known people who have a vape pen, or some other kind of smoke you can control, and then lightly blow it around vacuum lines where they connect - if you see any get sucked in you've found it! That, or if you can't hear a whistle and have a rough idle it might be a dirty IAC Valve or Throttle Body! I've mistaken that for a vacuum line in the past. Let me know how it goes!! I may not have the answer but happy to brainstorm!
Nice video mate. My renix xj starts fine when left overnight , if try to crank 10-15 min after you turn off engine , needs full trhottle to start . Leave it for 24 hours is ok again . Also runs rich . Do you think it can be vacuum leak especially related to map ? Thanks in advance and gappy nee year
Thank you!! I had dropped my 89 MJ off at what I thought was a reputable shop for some work...but it sat there untouched for 2 yrs. I just finally picked it up and it’s missing a bunch of this stuff. It’s been so long I didn’t remember what plugged into where.
Hey great video! I watched someone else's but it didn't pan out. Yours is a bit better and more visual. I was wondering if the line that goes from the manifold to the vacuum canister at the back of the front bumper, does the end that goes out of or into the manifold have a check valve on yours? Mine looks just like yours. Some say there should be a check valve there.
What's the thing that's bolted to the driver's side fender on the inside? I have bolt holes where that used to be there, but the previous owner took it out and now the vacuum lines have nothing to go to.
I have an 88 Cherokee and recently found little drops of oil on the air filter in the air box, im pretty sure its from the 46004 line but should i be worried or is it normal? Great videooo!!!
Thank you so much! I made it in an Instagram story format originally, hence the jump cuts. Hope it helps! Any and all suggestions or questions are always welcome. And if I don't know an answer, maybe we can find it together!
At the 3:50 mark, do you or anyone else know what the vacuum line running to that ball does? I have a 1989 Comanche and that particular line is not hooked up and there is a plug on the engine side of the vacuum line. Doesn't seem to cause any issues. I appreciate any info..
It's the vaccum canister it holds vaccum. It's for your vents and cruise control. I'm still trying to figure mine out in my 88 mj. I just picked up the ball today but mine only has one hook up hole for it. I only had one hose dangling down there so I assumed that's what it went to
David Eifling on my vacuum canister there were two ports. One for the vacuum line and one I believe was electrical. Had to plug both in. Also the vacuum line had a T splitter with one end open. I plugged everything in and plugged the open end of the T splitter. That seemed to do the trick. We’ll see what other issues it may cause. Hopefully this may help you, best of luck my friend!
@@zdoran01 ya I only had one line I have an 88 manche. What's weird is my vents worked with out the ball so that's why I bought the ball and still nadda.
