- In Living Color is an American sketch comedy television series, which originally ran on the Fox Network from April 15, 1990 to May 19, 1994. Brothers Keenen and Damon Wayans created, wrote, and starred in the program. The show was produced by Ivory Way Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The show was taped before a live studio audience at stage 7 at the Fox Television Center on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California. The title of the series was inspired by the NBC announcement of broadcasts being presented "in living color" during the 1950s and 1960s, prior to mainstream color television. It also refers to the fact that most of the show's cast was African American, unlike other sketch comedy shows like Saturday Night Live whose casts are usually mostly white.
Other members of the Wayans family-Kim, Shawn and Marlon-had regular roles, while brother Dwayne frequently appeared as an extra. The show also starred the previously unknown actor/comedians Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx, and David Alan Grier. Additionally, actress Rosie Perez, Dancing with the Stars judge and choreographer Carrie Ann Inaba and dancer Jennifer Lopez (now best known as a singer and actress) were members of the show's dance troupe The Fly Girls.
I'm so glad my dad was a part of this production. He used to paint the sets for this show!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Little did he know, he was walking among comedy legends..... and my dad was legendary to begin with!

Yes I know he’s not Imitating Tyson here. What I’m saying is that he’s been preparing to do the Mike Tyson story for the past few years, therefore saying “he’s been preparing for the Tyson roll his whole life” , meaning he’s been taking different things from different fighters to make up what is now the preparation for the Tyson movie.
Christopher Mackan He’s imitating Mitch Green. Carl The Truth didn’t act like this but Mitch did.

Carl Williams was a really humble and down-to-earth guy who unusually did most of his talking in the ring. He respected Holmes in interviews before he was robbed of beating him and even praised Bruno after Bruno cheated in his brutal win over him.
This character was more like Riddick Bowe or Mike Tyson.
The improvisation skills of the cast was AMAZING! That's why this show was so good. Everyone had to be "on their toes", have fun and catch whatever the other cast member would throw at each other. In Living Color was truly one of the best shows on TV. Not to mention the talent that came out of it.
Tommy Davidson turns his head and just dies laughing. That is too funny.

Highly underrated show. Loved how they pushed the envelope and made us laugh in the process. While over at NBC that long running overrated show got all the publicity for stale fare. I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Carl the tooth Williams seems to be based on former heavyweight champion Leon Spinks, who won the title from Muhammad Ali in 1978. Spinks was a character, a walking spoof of himself.
It's a shame that another show of this type has not been attempted again.
Chappelle Show was close. You can't do these slapstick shows anymore. Too many softies getting butthurt over this and that.
