  • I make an outdoor firewood storage rack using mild steel and recycled wood. This firewood rack is a smaller unit to store firewood close to the house. To add some visual interest corten panels are cut freehand with a plasma cutter. The corten in this video has only been rusted for less than 12hours. I will add photos to my Instagram channel as the patina improves. / elfshotdesign
The frame is made mostly from 35mm square hollow section and 40 x 40 x 3mm angle iron. The wood sits along 32mm galvanised pipes I found from an old fence. Everything is sanded, cleaned back with grease and wax remover before painting with a rust-inhibiting primer and topcoat.

    Cool mate.
Mate you reckon that blue primered steel is Ok outside? Does it rust?

The black paint also has a rust inhibitor in it, won't rust for many years.
