About Sam Ryder
In 2020, as the world went into lockdown, Sam Ryder uploaded the first of his now infamous covers that quickly caught the attention of some famous fans (think Elton John) with compilations appearing on The Ellen Show & BBC's Newsbeat. As the content kept coming, so did the fans, amassing 10 million on socials by the end of the year. Fast forward to 2021 and Sam was crowned as TikTok's most popular UK artist account for the second year in a row.
In 2021, Sam released his 5-song EP 'The Sun's Gonna Rise' including track 'Whirlwind' that describes Sam’s journey - spending much of his adult life writing and performing in bands, living in Hawaii and owning a vegan coffee shop; before he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a solo artist.
Sam's first show in London sold out in under 10 minutes, nearly as quickly as his first full UK tour. Ready to make his first live foray into Europe and beyond, world domination in 2022 might not be a stretch too far for this incredible talent.

The *REAL* winner of Eurovision 2022! He is at least a HERO for sure for inspiring millions in the UK. Europe DOESN'T hate us! We just have to send good songs, with good staging, like this and with a great singer with an AMAZING stage presence and personality! It will be hard to find another Sam Ryder but it surely won't be hard to inspire those of us in the UK now! Not only did this song have a moment to remember at 2:07, but it also had that guitar solo at 2:30, though there were MULTIPLE winning moments here! Take notes for the future, guys!

People used to complain Eurovision was politically motivated, when we would be last due to everybody hating us because of our politics. Usually about who we were going along with the USA bombing.
Although because our government want us to now be all be flying the Ukraine flag because the USA and Britain have been trying to shut down Russia Today news for years, for them pointing out things our news doesn't. Such as how we sell arms to countries like Saudi Arabia and have funded extremist groups to overthrow leaders who won't trade oil in US Dollars, nobody cares Ukraine won, despite us having the best song.

I will say it’s incredible, but I honestly think he sounds a lot like Freddie mercury meets Michael Jackson. It’s the familiarity of his voice, amazing as it is, that I enjoy. Even the song feels right at home as an Elton John song.

Not only is this a technically brilliant pop song, Sam’s vocal ability is wonderful and his positive attitude is infectious. As a British person and a human being, this song and performance makes me feel joy.

Met Sam in Fuerteventura about a week before Eurovision he was helping his friend chaperone about twenty kids from a boxing club never once did he tell us he was singing in Eurovision. Well done Sam. xx
Absolutely brilliant performance. On the night of the show this song soared to my #1 spot from a spot just outside of the top 10. The UK should be incredibly proud of Sam and Sam should be so, so proud of himself not only for doing so well and bringing such quality to Eurovision, but for shattering the decades-long assumption that Europe just hates the UK. Maybe one day in the distant future Sam should come back and get the trophy!
Indeed, Europe doesn't hate the UK, it's just that in the past eurovision years UK didn't have such great songs as this one, this year instead the UK really amazed the whole european audience with this song.

There were many much better songs of Eurovision 2022 , but I think that today's people's imagination goes as far as.. singing about space (either they want to escape earth and go to space - Harry Styles - or..... want to come back home from space).They don't know what they want. Or rather - they do not know what is really important these days and what they should sing about. Hope they will soon find out.😉
