I just realized that this is a song or a duet of perspectives as they both love each other and still felt they are not good enough. The lyrics are in reality their respective monologues??? I do not know if they are referring to different relationships or to each other but it gets the point across. If I were to pick I will have to give a slight edge on the all female version. However,both renditions are good. Is that LUMAYO KA MAN SA AKIN ( Japanese version at the end??? Wow!!! Now that is OPM elevated to a higher and deeper level.

The duet is too hopeful. The sound is great but the messaging is not the same. Solo Baka Mitai is an idiot dreaming of a one sided relationship that isn't reasonable because the other person is happily married or dead. Duet Baka Mitai is 2 idiots in a sit com who misunderstand and feel like they aren't good enough for the other person. Solo Baka Miai is more relatable even if duet Baka Mitai sounds better as music.

I love the Kiryu version of Bakamitai, but Akiyama's is just something special. The VA's phrasing and sustain are on another level, and I love his timbre, even though it isn't quite as deep as Kiryu's VA's.

GREAT COVER!!! Not to be nitpicky, but that extra "zama miro" at 4:15 wasn't necessary IMO. I DID love that "otoko yanai / onna yanai" variation. Pretty clever! Akiyama's version is the best. Was really surprised the first time I heard him sing it in the game.

The only divergence is that the song doesn't name subjects very often, which makes it ambiguous who is singing to whom. I think this was done intentionally for an artistic purpose of expressing how a break up is a two-person crisis. You could also read it as one person racking their brain and hearing the other side's voice. It's a legit good song imho, little wonder it caught on so much.

The only divergence is that the song doesn't name subjects very often, which makes it ambiguous who is singing to whom. I think this was done intentionally for an artistic purpose of expressing how a break up is a two-person crisis. You could also read it as one person racking their brain and hearing the other side's voice. It's a legit good song imho, little wonder it caught on so much.
