i think you haven’t seen enough people then. plenty of folks struggle on tests when they otherwise succeed. even as someone who is very strong in tests, i can tell you that they are not the best measurement for intelligence/retention. but i agree that in combination with transcripts, they help colleges see how well people may fit in to their incoming class & whether or not they will succeed in their school.

Is the answer of the question 4, because using my brain is using cardinal points; you start at west you go north, then you go east, then south and finally west, back to your original position, but if the answer isn't on the paper the kids who sat for the paper can sue the government- in my country- or the question is not added to the final so the student gets x/99. Which can save so many peoples' grades

Test scores should be given priority over GPA. Small private schools give every opportunity for getting perfect GPA to their students. Large public schools don’t care about students that much and don’t give retests etc to improve their Bs and Cs.

The issue is that grades can be super varying based on grade inflation, differing grading policies, and even just how your teacher feels one morning (as opposed to standardized tests, which are made to control for those factors to a much greater extent). Things like ECs and essays generally favor those from more prosperous socioeconomic backgrounds which can be an issue. Sure, tests are FAR from perfect. But is there really a better option?

Sure sure. I'm an SAT & ACT tutor , & have managed to bring up my clients math & science score by a minimum of 8-10points o the act, & near max on the SAT. Tough luck, you perhaps just weren't bright enough to score well enough , or a terrible test taker. Which if you do happen to be the latter then you wouldn't be admitted to ANY reputable school.

It's harsher on students but it makes sense. A test is where you truly examine ones skill and proficiency in a subject; If all tests were removed, it'd be hard to accurately gauge how good someone is in a subject.

I attend Princeton, & have two indian friends who scored enough to attend IIT , but attended Princeton. From accounts, they clarified & agreed that the exam weeds out the slow indias, which I presume you to be one of them. Btw, I also checked it & it's a joke.

Grades should be valued the most. Test grades should be a close second, and extracurriculars should only really be a deciding factor in certain cases.
