Christ's Ascension Through Hebrew Eyes

Right before Christ ascends into heaven, and as he does so, we hear echoes in Luke 24 of Moses leading Israel out of Egypt; Aaron lifting up his hands to bless; a sacrifice going up to heaven; and the Lord of Hosts worshiped. Jesus is fulfilling the Torah, Prophets, and Psalms. In this week's video, Chad Bird talks about the "Israelization" of the world that begins at the Ascension.

Why is Daniel considered as part of Ketuvim and not Nevi‘im?

We do not have the definitive answer. Presumably, because much of Daniel's apocalyptic writing did not match closely enough with the rest of the prophetic corpus. Another possibility is that Daniel, being reckoned a man of wisdom, fit better with the wisdom books included in the Ketuvim.

Why 40 days from resurrection to ascension?

That is the standard biblical trope for a time period in which God tests, reveals, etc. In this case, the 40 days was a time for Christ to appear and commission.
