    This worked for my 2005 9-3. It almost feels like it has a little more pep. 223,000 smiles and more to come. Thanks guys!

      It actually probably does have more pep.
      Some ECUs when they start to fail, they don't let the turbo work properly and it's like a soft version of the limp mode.

    It is so cool to see parts repaired instead of trashed. Awesome job

    Holy crap! Did not expect to see tcanflasher out in the wild like this. :D
    I wrote the bootloader that performs the actual flashing and dumping of T8. Been meaning to upgrade some of the features in it but haven't quite found the time :)

      You can find me and many of the other suite and flasher developers on trionictuning in case you run into any issues. I'm that guy with a pink username (because the site's owner thought it was hilarious).

      Wow that's awesome! (not the pink username thing but that's funny to haha)
      I have a question for you. Sometimes we get read or write errors with some of these modules, when that happened we would just run the program again and typically it would work the second time. At first tossed it up to the ECU perhaps not being in good condition, but then we noticed it happened on both good and bad ECUs.
      Any insight as to why that might be happening?

    Please do more extensive testing. Good job thanks for the video !

      Always for these. I just wasn't going to be able to get the video published in time if I did more testing before the end of the video

    this bga work is horrible ! the only reason the chip lifted was because you used way to much flux

    • @NicksElectronicRepair
      @NicksElectronicRepair  2 месяца назад

      Do your work on these units? Have you worked often with film like this? Can you explain how the flux would cause the film to buble? This is the only device we fix that doesn't have components on a PCB but instead on film so it's definitely a new thing for us.

    • @paulgross6351
      @paulgross6351 2 месяца назад

      @NicksElectronicRepair the flux didn't cause the film to bubble it bubbled because you used to mutch flux and heat, try to adjust you temperature profile on your machine, too much heat can shorten the lifespan of the chips

    • @NicksElectronicRepair

      "the flux didn't cause the film to bubble it bubbled because you used to mutch flux" So maybe you mean it's just the heat then?
      So we have used that same profile for the last 20 ECU's we fixed and 90% of the time it does not bubble, if we go lower on temperature the chip doesn't reflow. This is the exact line where we get it to reflow. If we went any lower it wouldn't reflow. In fact sometimes it doesn't reflow with the profile and we have to run it a second time. That's how close to that line it is.
      What would you suggest?
      Do you work on these types of devices? Have you worked with reflowing or reballing of chips on film?

      @@NicksElectronicRepair First he said that the ONLY thing was the flux. Then it was the heat. I don't think you will get usefull info from that. This is clearly not a job for a DIYer or for the faint hearted and you should say that in the video so people don't try this and destroy their ECUs.

      Yes I think you are correct. I will mention that moving forward. We are going to be doing a few more of these ECU videos in the near future covering different fault codes and I will mention that at the begining of those videos.
