      Unless it's 5 1sts and 3 2nds. Quarterback is not the only position that can be a bust in the 1st round just the most magnified but if the Patriots hit at qb they are set for the next 10-15 years and I wouldn't trade back even if half those picks hit because you have to pay them with no chance of contending without a qb. I have no idea how come people people who have watched the Jets, Dolphins, and Bills just flat out suck the past 25 years even with all the top 10 draft picks that they have had😂😂😂

    Stop with the trade down stuff. Pats need a long-term QB. Take them at 3 and move on. If you drop down to 11. You miss out on the top 3 WR and the top tackles. You can get a TE in rounds 5-7. I'd rather have another top corner to air with Gonzalez. I like the kid from BC! Enough with Merrill Hodge. He also missed on Justin Herbert and Jordan Love! Nobody knows. That's what makes the draft exciting.💯

      😂😂😂you think yall would learn watching the Jets draft bust after bust. Got news for you it's not the QB that was a bust but the team around him that sucked. 1 player out of 11 can only do so much. So by all means follow the Jets route and take the rookie QB and watch him look like shit right before your eyes all year and then when he gets benched for Brissett because all the fans are crying that this guy sucks. Now your in the 2025 draft sitting top 10 again with a back up journal and a young bust. Or you could play this like the Texans the smart way the way the 49ers did it. You build the team first you know those other positions like the offensive lineman to block for the QB. Yeah you need one of those their are several legit franchise left tackles in this draft, you need a true outside wr, because all you have is slot guys. Their are plenty of those in this draft too. Now imagine taking a QB that has nothing around him that will fail because he has nothing around him. In doing so miss out on the new franchise left tackle and the new WR1. Only to be right back at the top of the draft next year with all the same problems because the young QB you took at 3 last year that ended up busting because of the team around him. Sound like the Jets with Darnold and Wilson? Or you could take the smart route trade down with Minnesota get the holes on your offense filled with true talent that can lift the play of your journman QB and be in a place to either draft or trade up a few picks to take your QB of the future in 2025 now that you have your franchise piece in place. Imagine having your pieces in place for next year's draft when a one Sheduar Sanders son of HOF CB Dion Sanders is set to come out. Not only is he the son of a HOF player but he also showed enough to be mentored personally by the goat himself Tom Brady. To me it's a no brainer trade down build up and take Sheduar next year.

He can throw, has a strong arm and is probably the most accurate qb in the draft. Now you sound dumb saying they won’t let him throw. They had a real football team that ran the ball, and protected the ball. News flash it’s what the Pats are trying to replicate. AT the end of the day not a single one of these guys has done anything to prove or show they will work in the NFL. They could realistically all end up busts. No draft pick has ever brought that in return they are not getting that and they wouldn't even ask because it's so far beyond logical maybe for the first overall pick in this year's class could bring that in but sure as he'll not the 3rd. Yall are going to be mad as hell on draft night when your front office ignores all you fans that don't have a clue how to build a winner or run a franchise make the smart move and trade down to take extra assets in this year's and possibly next year's draft, and use those assets to build out the roster to make it into a roster that will be ready yo take a rookie QB next year. Because regardless of who you take if you take a QB at 3 you will be right back at the top of the draft next year. In virtually the same spot only difference is that you will have a mental broken young qb that has already been labeled as a dissapoinmwnt and bust because he couldn't magically turn your your crap team into gold. Before you take a rookie QB go get yourselves a franchise left tackle make sure that you have at least average level lineman across the rest of the line anyone less than average with a rookie qb is going to stand out that much more. Then if you trade with the logical choice in Minnesota you would not only be able to get your franchise left tackle at 11 but would also have pick number 23 to take a true number 1 WR. With those 2 in place ride it out with Brissett this year and set yourself up to take the QB next year a guy like sheduar Sanders son of a HOF and being mentored by the goat. Brady taking an interest and investing in him should be music to Patriot fans ears. You are I n perfect place to be competitive by 2025 and beyond with all young blue chip players in key areas on offense all on rookie deals you can attack free agency in mass force on the defensive side of the ball this next off-season add sheduar in the draft and be right back to being a powerhouse in the AFC. Or you can take a QB this year and move nowere but in circles.

He could have bailed on his college but he stayed and that shows the kids loyalty. He's built to be a NFL QB 6'4" 225 lbs and athletic from a athletic family. He's 22 years old he's going to fill out and get bigger he's the most accurate passer over the middle. Fix his footwork and arm slot and that kids going to be special for quite a while. None of the above. The only thing the Patriots would accomplish by drafting a rookie QB at #3 is ruin an otherwise great and promising prospect. Ha, I love the delusion around New England thinking they still have a team that befits a rookie QB. You have no pass protection. You have a WR room full of 3rd option WR. You don't have a true great or legit #1 WR. Any of the prospects they take is going to struggle. These guys are fucking nuts I'm all for supporting your team but what they are talking g is straight delusional. 4 firsts that has never been traded for not even for a number 1 overall selection. Patriot fans be glad these fools aren't in your front office. Your team would never get out of the dumpster fire. The best thing you can do at 3 is either take the sure thing in a true number 1 wr in Marvin Harrison Jr. Doesn't matter who is throwing the ball when you have a guy like that. He is going to get his. The other is trade the pick to Minnesota get the 2 firsts this year and the extra first next year. Use the pick at 11 to get a true legit franchise left tackle. Then use 23 to nab a true number 1 WR. A rookie QB is not going to do anything with the team he has around him. Build the team first then add the QB next year as the final piece. 2025 draft Sheduar Sanders. Mentored by Patriot legend Tom Brady.

    These guys have been milking the draft speculation for two months- it’s not complicated for New England - they don’t have a QB they’re sitting at number 3 in the draft with a good selection of College QBs. Next years class of QBs is not good. Draft Maye or Daniels and. Rebuild.

    • @mikesmith7820
      @mikesmith7820 5 месяцев назад

      That's Jets logic for you we dont have a tackle or main wr(just a bunch of slot guys and 3rd options)and don't boast an elite run game. Let's take a rookie QB that needs those things in place without those things in place. Then lets put the expectation on tjis one guy with nothing around him to turn the whole franchise into a winner overnight. It's not that hard that's why the Jets drafted Darnold and 3 years later they are taking Zack Wilson again at pick number 3. Again didn't build the roster or team around the qb to give the rookie any hope for success and then blame the rookie qb for not being able to turn crap into gold. Taking Drake Maye, Jaden Daniels, JJ McCarthy, or even Caleb Williams, none of them would look good playing for the patriots. Why because the team around them sucks. Look at the 49ers with a 7th round QB taking them to the superbowl how does that work? Because you built the team around the QB. Not taking anything away from the goat because that's what he is, but Tom Brady had as much success and won as many superbowls as he did because he kept his salary down understanding the importance of the players around him being high caliber as being the key to success. Trust me your best move is trading down and either taking a developmental project to sit for a year and learn or just wait for 2025 which no it is not as deep at the QB position but all that means is that there won't be 6 qbs being talked about as first round picks. Trust me when I say that next years class might have the best prospect of the last few years coming out. That man is Sheduar Sanders, son of HOF CB Dion Sanders and is being mentored by your franchise legend and all time goat in Tom Brady. Brady is not the type to get involved with a young QB because of who his dad is Brady saw something in Sheduar that told him he had massive potential. That's the only reason Brady would work with him and guid him. If it was me I would take a prospect with HOF genetics that's been mentored by the greatest QB of all time. Over any prospect this year Trust me my team needs a QB and I was beyond bummed when Sheduar didn't declare this year because I think 5 years down the line he will be better than anyone in this year's class assuming he walks into a situation we're the other pieces are in place.

      God imagine being in the same division as the Jets. As a Patriots fan you have watched the Jets make the same mistake time and time again taking a QB high in the draft and not having a team around them that was Sam Darnold, that was Zack Wilson. How did that work for them. You would think that watching a team make the same mistake over and over that neither the team or their fans would want to see their team make the same mistakes. If the Patriots take a QB at 3 they will do nothing but ruin the prospect. You are not, I repeat you are not in any position to just take a rookie QB and suddenly your contending again you have a bad team. You have no pass protection up front you have a WR room full of slot or 3rd option guys you lack any real recieving threat on the outside. So you can't block for him and you don't have a true threat target to throw to, sounds a lot like what Sam Darnold and Zack Wilson walked into. You would have though it obvious watching the Texans last year that the way to build a team through the draft is by setting up the team around the QB first and then adding the QB. Turnedthe Texans from #2 overall pick to winning a playoff game. Not because they took a rookie QB, but because they built the offense and had all the pieces in place around the QB. Their is the difference only time will tell if your front office is as dumb as these clowns.

    You quarterback in a fishbowl in New England. You gotta have real mental toughness and mental stability. The fact is Maye never came close to having the kind of pressure McCarthy was under these past 2 yrs. Same with Daniels. Pats should take McCarthy, if he is gone, they should trade the pick to the Vikings and get their 2 1st rounds. Jefferson, and their 1st round pick next year. Vikings would do that for J. Daniels. If McCarthy is gone and Pats pick Daniels, forget about his skill set, can Daniels handle the pressure he is going to face as a rookie QB here. It would be much easier in MN than Boston. If the Pats deal, they can pick up a kid in the 2nd round and try to develop him. No pressure for the kid and Joe Milton will be available. You play Brissett
    , Zappe, maybe get Wilson if he becomes available in training camp. We have had how many years now of losing. Boston is a media town, this is not Baton Rouge! And you think Daniels had pressure at LSU. Hope Mayo and Wolf drilled him hard about mental toughness and operating in a fish bowl when Daniels visited Foxboro. As said, McCarthy is best equipped to handle this.

    I want them to get a choice that brings his talents to the patriots and stabilizes this team going forward with everything else I have to do. I’m not sure who that is, but I hope they make the right decision.

      It's not a who. You need help everywhere which is why your best move is to trade back. Fill the holes on your roster build the team up to be ready for the rookie QB. Your team is not ready for a rookie QB. Look at the 49ers when they took Lance yeah the move busted but did it sink the team did they pick top 10 for years and years after or did they remain competitive until they found the young QB who then instantly took them deep into the playoffs and finally last year a super bowl. Qualifiers for the intelligent when taking a rookie QB. How is the prospects fit with your system and scheme that you run. Are the negatives/weaknesses with them fixable or correctable easy or is it going to be a developmental project. Do they have all the tools and traits that you are looking for in a franchise signal caller. How is the personality off the field and in the locker room. Are they a natural leader, do people tend to gravitate towards them. How do they handle pressure and stress situations. How is their mental aptitude and football IQ. Are they able to read through progressions and multiple routes to make the right throw or do they lock on to certain targets or routes. And then of course the biggest and only external factor is our team and roster in a position or at a place we're we have enough their to support a rookie QB through the struggles and development that comes with jumping from the college level to the pros. Do we have the franchise left tackle, right tackle and atleast average protection up the middle. Do we have the weapons around the rookie to help him play his best by bailing him out on bad throws or going off script when the play breaks down and the qb is scrambling for his life. New England doesn't have any of that. Whatever rookie you take would struggle just like Sam Darnold or Zack Wilson. So trade down and build up the team forget about getting a QB that your franchise is not in a place to help make successful.
