Smoke could be seen rising from the Lebanese capital shortly before 8pm local time from an area classed as a stronghold for the militant group. The city had been bracing for a retaliation after a rocket attack in the occupied Golan Heights killed the group of children as they played football.
Israel and the US have blamed Hezbollah for the attack. Hezbollah denied responsibility.
