Few things: 1. I really like Iron Man 3, it's just so well written even with the villains admittedly being shallow. 2. The BK cheeseburger was because that's how RDJ got off drugs, he hated the burger so much that he got off drugs. 3. Doug has mentioned It's Always Sunny in his Career Dive for Danny Devito as being one of the funniest TV shows ever made.
Nick Fury was black in the Earth 1610 Ultimate universe, the comic even joked that Fury wanted Samuel Jackson to play him. He was so popular that they changed Main 616 Nick Fury into the one we got today but the original Nick Fury is just an old man now.
Saw this movie in theaters when it came out, was 14 then. Had no idea what was in store for the future and it took me until Captain America to realize they were doing The Avengers. As soon as I saw the poster with Chris Evans as Steve, I knew where they were going. And now with over 30 films later, it's amazing how big it has grown. The latest, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, shows that it still has a lot staying power. It's one of my personal favorites of these films. Best ones I think are Winter Soldier, Ragnarök, Infinity War, Endgame and No Way Home
8:53 - I don't know if this was intentional, but this joke about the name "Ezekiel" being ridiculous really gets me, because in the comics, Obadiah Stane actually has a son named "Ezekiel Stane" who's a villain and uses Stark Tech against Tony. Also, I genuinely don't know why Doug thinks Obidiah is a twist villain. He WAS built up. We see him order the "Ten Rings" to be executed when he recovers the suit Tony built in the cave, he reveals that he betrayed Tony to get him forced out of the company, he's revealed to be the one that orchestrated the attack on Tony at the start of the movie AND was the one selling Stark Industry weapons to America's enemies. He had a LOT of build up, so Doug is legitimately wrong here. I will admit that Obadiah Stane would've been better being saved to be the villain of the second movie though, and just a support character in this one.
@@jaredohlstein7355 I dunno. He seems smart, but sometimes he really misses things that are instrumental to what he's watching. Like, if memory serves, I think he completely misunderstood the theme/message of American Pie. I don't think he's an idiot or anything like that, but when he makes mistakes, they're pretty bad.
The one that started the cinematic universe. Iron man is one of my favourite characters because of these movies. By the way sorry for the reminder, cause I’m sure many have said it by now, but hope you and everyone is doing well. ❤
Don't forget Iron man and the incredible Hulk were the first two MCU films to be shot and release at the same time. Talk about Marvel putting in all the chips at the time.
Honestly one of the underappreciated parts about this movie is the adaptation. Tony's origin is pretty much ripped directly from the comics. They just needed to update the writing and timeframe, expand on some concepts and character motivations, and voila, the basis for a great script that would start a cinematic juggernaut.
I'd love it if you reacted to Nostalgia Critic's review of 'Cats.' It's funny but brings up some great points about Broadway adaptations and risk-taking.
It's funny Doug mentions no one remembers the Ironman cartoon because, I never forgot about it, for 2 specific reasons. 1. The Hulk cartoon, which my family had a VHS of that featured Ironman (which I found a DVD in a second-hand store not too long ago). And 2. "I. Am! I. Am. Ironman. I. Am. Ironman!" That kick ass theme song. I never forgot it, even though I only recently was able to hear it again due to finding a DVD of the show late a little while back, that theme stayed in my head for the last 2 decades and never left.
Saying things like Marvel's not been good since Endgame is a trend now. Have you all forgotten No Way Home, Shang Chi, Loki, GOTG vol.3, Wakanda Forever? And Yes, Wandavision is great too.
This movie is also the first time for me who Ironman is (I knew The Hulk from The Incredible Hulk which is my favourite Hulk film, my favourite is The Police Car Boxer Gloves)
there is old cartoons that got me into Iron Man from back in the 60s and another one in the 90s that were both good to me. also there are Avengers cartoons that were also great. that is why when people say Iron Man is a C list or B list character I have to disagree because for me Tony Stark has always been an A list character.

The avengers (2012) 2. Spider-Man no way home 1. Avengers infinity war Honourable mentions Iron Man Antman And Antman and the wasp
12:45 interesting. fact. after tony says no on the building of the jericho missile after being demanded, he gets tortured via drowning in a trough and gets dragged outside with a bag covering his head. but when i watch this film on FX years ago, after tony says no on the building of the jericho missile after being demanded, yinsen slaps tony and then, tony gets dragged outside with a bag covering his head. so, alternate scene? or deleted scene?
14:29 Yeah, same here Nate. Honestly, the only shows that still have some humanity in it but still treats it like a comic book is Moon Knight, GOTG Vol. 3 and NWH, the rest really haven’t impressed me.
I, personally, didn't like how season 3 (I think) started and stopped watching a couple episodes in. I really liked seasons 1 & 2. I will probably go finish it because it will bug me if I don't
@@thepsychomagus Ghost Rider was awesome. Hive was awesome. The finale story arc. Everything after you left was amazing and awesome Daisy, Mac, Fitz Simmons, Coulson, May. Maybe it only improved because you stopped watching it.
Honestly I really wish we could get a superhero movie written in the style iron man had. It feels like the cinematic universe took itself less seriously as time went on,
i love the MCU content still. they all range from least favorite to all-time favorite. i wouldn't consider one of them "worst". and anyone that bashed this MCU franchise makes my love of it grow stronger. it did legit got me into comic books more than ever in the past (whether Marvel, DC, and/or in general).
sorry but Phase 4 is absolute trash especially since Black Widow and Hawkeye should have had a movie together 14 years ago atleast. it is criminal how they are turning these beloved characters into mantles to pass down to crappy will not be remembered characters. The most criminal is taking away Falcon as a character and just making him a bad race swapped Captain America.
I get annoyed when people say "Endgame was peak and now its all shit" But you wanna know why it was good? Years of build up from many different movies And there was a lot of bad MCU movies before phase 4 and 5
Gotta I admit I like the modern spider man movies a decent amount. Especially the new spider verse movie , plus I think most of the new MCU movies are okay.
I have to disagree with Doug and you about the last third being bad. I find it to be a good villain for a first outing for Iron Man to deal with. Doug didnt even mention how Obadiah Stane forced the Stark employees to make the reactor and make him a suit. It goes perfectly as the opposite of how Tony makes his suit himself. When it comes to the best MCU movie Civil War isnt even in my top 10 due to how bad the plot of that movie is. I prefer Guardians of the Galaxy, Winter Soldier, Iron Man 1, Infinity War and Avengers 1 way above that crap. It came out at the same time as that garbage Batman V Superman movie with an equally awful plot. As far as Phase 4 is concerned it doesnt even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the first 3 phases. All they did was erase all the male characters that built the MCU and give them mostly crappy female agenda characters. Because all of these characters are now mantles to pass down for diversity and inclusion sake.
Correction: Black Nick Fury was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Allred--he first appeared in _Ultimate Marvel Team Up_ #5 back in 2001.

Most ironic part for me when it comes to Dough comparing Iron Monger to Rhino, for my LEGO, i used the War Machine Buster to make a Rhino Mech.
17:45 Actually, Agents of SHIELD is really good, & it actually didn’t get cancelled. It had a good 7 season run & ended on its own terms.
GOTG3 had some human moments. Although most of them are from non-human characters.
