It's interesting how Stak compared himself to Himmel because we all know how awesome Himmel was and someone like him couldn't pull the sword out of the rock and because of that Stark didn't even bother to try

15:50 I think starks family is dead because this story feels like it is about how all the party members have someone that has pased away and they are on their way to reunite with them in Heaven, since Eizen is still alive it only makes sense that starks brother is dead and that stark will eventually meet him again

Stark’s brother wanted him to live so bad that he intentionally put a curse on him.
That he must live on, and what’s the best sure way to survive? To him, is running away!

About the Hero's Sword, I feel the time for it to be pulled out hasn't come yet. As calamitous as the Demon King was the Hero's Sword wasn't needed to take him down, and something worse is due in the future. My headcanon is that Stark will return later and draw it out, with all that implies. That, or when Frieren is as old as Karst (FAR beyond the scope of the anime/manga) she'll guide someone else to it...

there are ideas flying around that starks and frens child will be the hero, but hey, thats just a theory.

@@oriandthesleepytimeWhile that is an interesting idea, I believe that the sword is a test from the Goddess for all future heroes placed there to do as you said, steel their resolve. But, I think that the sword was first used to stop an ancient evil in the age of mythology by the first real Hero, who I personally believe to be Kraft. That is why no one can pull it now, because it's true master has already used it and left it there as a test for the resolve of the next would be hero.
That is the purpose of Kraft in the story I think. To show us that even the greatest of Heroes, one's that have been acknowledged by the Goddess herself and allowed to wield a divine blade, are forgotten as the millennia goes on and on. Time makes even those people irrelevant unless their stories are immortalized in some form, be it through history books and folk tales. And even then, their stories will be romanticized and their true self forgotten.

Imagine missing the whole point of the episode this badly..

@@honsai7409 Pretty sure I did get the point, of the episode and the manga/anime as a whole. But there's a lot of subtle worldbuilding in it. I (and others) enjoy speculating on past & future aspects of what we're shown. Speculation is why I used "I feel" and "headcanon" rather than definitive statements. 😉
As well, different people can interpret things differently. Like when Stark faced down the dragon attacking the town. What do you feel was the point of the episode?
