    My husband was the recipient of one of those wonderful personal phone calls in 2012. He was years old with a 99% blocked LCD and a 100% RCA.
    That phone call saved his life. This year he turns 60 and still on the plan and on no meds and has had no symptoms in ten years.

    it makes sense that since the penile artery is smaller that the 3 main arteries of the heart, that it would have blockages before the larger heart arteries. But why is it that once the 3 heart arteries descend into the heart muscle ,where they branch into smaller and smaller segments, there is never plaque or blockages found there? update.i spoke with Dr Esselstyn yesterday and its just the way it is. He said nature does allows follow what we think of as logic. Nature has its own logic. Still, I think its amazing and fascinating

      I have been vegan for 5 years. Had 85% blockage in my arteries. A recent test showed it has reduced to 53%. I continued to consume deit soda but have quit because I was having angina attacks. It has come to my attention that artificial sweeteners increase blood clotting which could cause heart attack or stroke. The angina has disappeared when I quit drinking diet soda.

    I started and then stopped taking statins three times because of muscle pain. After a heart attack my research showed that low doses of statins can help protect artery walls without side effects, although LDL probably wil still be high. Now I am also trying to follow Dr. Esselstyn's advice. I have eaten so many green leafy vegetables I feel like a caterpillar.

    I got severe flu for 2 weeks starting 1/1/23, finally got over that (but it clearly weakened my immune system) for about 3 weeks before I had to fly to NY from NM to help my parents. I must have gotten infected on 2/10/23 because I started getting sick on the planes home 2/13/23. I've been sick ever since with COVID (first time for me) which triggered raging ear and sinus infections. Right now, I'm negative, but I seem to be a long hauler COVID person. :-( I'm very depleted and thinner, with lingering symptoms...with the scariest being lightheadedness and heart palpitations. Although the heart palpitations can happen at any time (often today), it seems...unless I'm imagining it...that fatty vegan food triggers it to happen big time. Just some peanut butter or whatever makes my heart worse. I'll try cutting out fats, but I have gotten too thin due to being sick. It is interesting that fat in food (even quality vegan food) seems to affect COVID heart issues. I don't think I'm imagining it.

I hate that you're feeling all this too, but you have no idea how grateful I am to have read of someone else like me.

    • @darrinheaton4016
      @darrinheaton4016 Год назад +1

      Unfortunately not, Judy. It may, however help lower blood pressure, which will - at least in theory - slow the rate at which the aneurysm grows. My father just had surgery for an aneurysm in his ascending aorta. The operation went smoothly, he had no pain at all, and was released from hospital 4 days post-surgery. He has continued to recover without incident. My father was 79 years old - and not in the greatest shape when he had the surgery. So, although an aneurysm is a lot to have on your mind, know that the procedures they now have for that condition are excellent, and have an astonishing rate of success, even, in my father's case, for an unhealthy almost 80-year old man with a drinking problem (alcoholic).
