Excellent video Candace! I've been struggling with/addressing the same issue recently. Once I started to pay attention as to how I was distracting myself, I was amazed at how much I was distracting myself, nearly constantly, even with just rearranging the priorities of my daily tasks so as to keep myself from doing the things that are important to my core "self". If you haven't tried this yet, I highly recommend doing a 90 minute session in a sensory deprivation tank. These tanks are amazing due to the fact that, once all external sensation has been cut off, your body has no other choice but to turn inward and start "listening" to itself. I can't tell you how powerful this is, you need to experience it personally. I will say that the effects didn't kick into full force until my 2nd or 3rd time, but everyone is different and as the person who prepared me for my first time said, "the tank doesn't give you the experience you want, it gives you the experience you need". And congratulations on kicking the sugar habit, keep going!

When you said that you would feel yourself coming to spiritual awareness or a better knowing of an issue and then you would find yourself becoming distracted and pulling away that is what happens to me all of the time. Every moment that happens I feel guilty and ashamed but I still do the thing such as eat the ice cream or smoke a cigarette or have a drink and I have no idea why I feel like I need those things!
I should also say I have moments of searching for acceptance but I am learning to accept myself. And come to terms with the damage I've done to this body. It is difficult no matter, to have no one to talk to about these things. But I trek on through the path and try.
It's good that you mention the fear of the own light. I am kinda afraid of spreading out my light because it can get extremely intense 😱 I can stay near people doing and saying just nothing and they get triggered as fuck 😅 And it gets often in my direction. But on the other hand I really enjoy and love being in my power and light because it feels good, natural and right. Also it feels like I create this space around me which feels like being at a Goa festival (yeah I love them and I want to share this beautiful, lovely feeling ❤️🌈) ✌️😂
