Yes please part 2 - I'm restoring the same exact model! I found a mix of oil/gas in the intake box. Emptied it, new air filter, new oil and filter. See if it runs tomorrow
I advise u to get rid of it unless you’ve always wanted a katana or somthin. But these bikes are terrible 😂 they will break every month and you will be cleaning the carbs every month
Hi buddy, I have just bought one of these in an auction, it was advertised as running this time last year and has been restored and turned into a nice looking streetfighter, ok I can't get it running, put fuel in, new plugs in and it started when I put some easy start spray into the airbox, it revved up for a second but then shut back off, any ideas on what I can do next, thanks in advance...
I would try the carburetors, but before removing the carbs, try turning on the bike with the choke. Don't Rev until it warms up, then if it shuts off, most likely carbs and jets need cleaning.
Hi, I have tried to start it with the choke but it will only start with the spray in the airbox, it revs up on it's own without me touching the throttle then it will shut off again and wont fire up...@@hondagarage
@@hondagarage yea the previous guy has started to build a streetfighter out of it. I reckon if the og airbox and exhaust hasnt been tampered its gonna be a good project. Just fixed my old 1983 Suzuki gsx 1100... Aaaand 89 honda cb450s. Feels like I've gotten the spark back so I think I gotta use the energy when I got it. Just gotta decide if I'm gonna keep the fighter build going or go full on ratbike with it.
@@hondagarageI gotta check out what it looks like, I'm pretty much stuck on the 80's with my bikes. But allmost scored a super blackbird for 700 bucks that had been on a crash but I took too long thinking should I?? Was thinking to chuck a turbo on it. The thing is, I should stay away from really really fast bikes... I know my limits, and my wallet aint gonna cut me slack for nice tires so better this way 😂 and I reckon there aint tires in this world that can turn me into a isle of man hero.

@musclefox223 ok, I'm 99% sure your carbs need cleaning, remove the carbs, and clean the jets with some carb cleaner and a needle or the tools I use.

@werewolfpig114 I'm the same way. I like to stay away from the sport bikes too, I like to just cruise now. Yeah, I like older bikes as well.
