    I've always admired your ability to communicate what we're about to see, and I try to work that into my own presentations, as well. This is great because the end result looks so complex, yet, watching you develop and build it looks remarkably easy. The one thing that got me the most was your attention to the base of the trees. For me, at least, I think that's an area many beginner artists may not be quick to attend to, as the rush is to get to those foliage areas. Again, it goes to your experience and ability to stay focused with intent. Always a treat, Steve. Happy Easter to you and your family, and I love the Psalm you chose for the ending. Very classy! Stay well, my friend. ~ Mark

      Jon Gnagy taught about trees entering the forest floor years ago.
      A gift for my Dec. Birthday when I was an early teens my parents gifted me with both of his sets
      I am blessed with the learning I received from those.
      I am also blessed with your teachings. Thank you very much.
      Blessings to you and your family...Mr. Mind of watercolor.

      Thanks for the encouraging comments Mark. They always mean a great deal coming from another pro like yourself. It usually means you notice the seemingly minor, inconsequential things (which really aren't) others seem to miss.

    Steve...I've been watching you for years now and I've learned so much from you. I love the loose watercolors you paint. Watching you paint inspires me to just get after it and keep practicing and trying new techniques. I wanted to ask...do you ever watch other you tube paint channels? I just discovered a new channel...Sarah Burns Studio. She lives in Scotland and does a lot of pleinair landscapes with watercolor and gouache. I've really enjoyed watching her process. Thanks for sharing with us. Happy Birthday and Happy Easter! HE IS RISEN...HE IS RISEN INDEED...

    Hi Steve and Happy Birthday!!! Jim from Madrid, Spain (an expat New Yorker living abroad - all legal!!!).😅👍
    I've been watching your videos on "painting loose", such as this one and I've been experimenting myself and... it us not as easy as you show on your videos! But... it is helping me a lot on my creative side and has been a launch pad to include other techniques for more abstract whilst still somewhat realistic pieces... So thank you!
    One thing though... I would LOVE to BUY your 10 watercolor MGraham set but... it is almost impossible to get in Spain or within the EU. MGraham is not available overseas and it's a shame, 'cause I would lobe to try them out. I just built my own new 18 colour palette with Daniel Smith (which is available over here in the EU), besides Windsor & Newton which is more common, for example (as well as other top brands), but MGraham is really difficult to find... Maybe you could ask and talk to them to se why they're not more international? Because they seem to be really good watercolors (from everything I've seen). In any case, I will try to BUY your set somehow in the future, mainly because of your colour choices as a start up base. Wish me luck!
    😁👍👍
    Cheers from Madrid!!!

    Hullo Steve, Happy Birthday! I have finally purchased my first set of M.Graham watercolors it is a 10 color set and I guess I have you to thank for that. I have spent most of my paint money on DaVinci paints. I recently just finished purchasing Denise Soden’s wonderful opaque watercolors set as well as 15 ML tubes to refill as I use them, as well as offer to friends small sample pans to get them to try these amazing paints. I would enjoy watching your video using the Denise’s Opaque watercolors, any chance? I look forward to testing out my new M.Graham set after it arrives. Thank you for continuing to be a fan and continuing to show just how wonderful these M.Graham paints work. Wishing you all the best, many happy returns. Please take care and be well.

    • @mindofwatercolor
      @mindofwatercolor  Год назад +1

      Glazing is really an oil painter's term but watercolorists have sort of adopted it. It just means a very thin, transparent color layer that changes the color or value or in this case intensifies the color.

    So, the M.Grahm Mind of Watercolor set - it has honey. One of my palates (spelling???) has honey based paints by Renesans. I like the paints but found out the hard way that they melt when it's hot, making a big mess if I carry them out of the studio. Are the M. Grahm honey based paints subject to similar hot weather melting???
