I saw this movie at the theater. Yahhh.... I've never forgotten how good it is. Taught me what ya can use a woodchipper for Aye This movie is a classic
I saw this movie a long time ago. Several times, it is just such an awesome, well-made film. The character of Marge's husband is played by the same actor who played Drew Carrey's cross-dressing brother on the Drew Carrey show.
I think one of the best scenes with her occurs after she catches the guy at the woodchipper as they are driving back to town. She is so disappointed in him for all the people that have died for nothing.
Yes, and that scene always just breaks my heart. It's so sad, but it helps in the case because Margie realizes anew that she can't just accept what people tell her, so she goes back and questions Lundegarde again.
When I saw this movie, at the time, I thought "OMG she has to win the Oscar" but I really didn't think that she would, mostly, because she underacts. Fortunately, the people who voted realized that.
I always thought her husband, and the wife's Dad's assistant looked a lot alike. The most memorable scenes were when she was with Mike,, a guy who knew deep down Margie wasn't interested in him, but even after she's married and pregnant is inappropriate with her. Yet she is kind to him. He is what many would consider a loser. The other scene that got me is the scene where the kidnappers are laughing at the lady tied up, blinded by a blanket, running around barefoot in freezing weather. The banality of cruelty was shown clearly in that scene. Lastly, when Margie is taking the killer back to town in her squad car, and says all these people died and for what? Money? That life is more important than money. You knew all along how intelligent, sensitive and decent Margie was, but then you realize she is having a conversation with a killer, and he's respectfully listening to her every word. The movie is a masterpiece.
Francis 's performance in 'Fargo' is really great and may be one of the best in history. But I don't understand why she performance a little poor in 'Primal Fear', the same year movie?
