Wow all that food for £5, amazing. And your so kind & thoughful about other people, only takijg what you know your going to use & making sure other people in need get their share. That casserole / stew looked delicious. If you had a dumpling mix you could make some dumplings to go in. Yes that packet / jar food will be fine , its not going to turn into poison at midnight!! I hate food waste you just have to be sensible , too many people throw things away when they dont need to, such a waste of money. Think millie is so cute, think your new bedding has her approval. !! And she loves her carrots 🥕 🥕
Stu Love your positive attitude. As you come towards spring, if your food co-op still has potatoes, you might consider letting some chit & using some for seed in your garden. Also, carrots & sweet potatoes are most excellent for dogs & there are simple recipes for them on line that save money rather than buying dog biscuits.
Hey, Stu! If you feel cold, you’re cold. The temperature is just a number. Currently -12C here. January’s always like that. Beautiful sun shining, and 19 in the house. Don’t find much stuff in my laundry because women’s clothes don’t have “real” pockets. Maybe a kleenex. Awesome, awesome food haul. Milly = carrot fiend. 🐇 Could be part rabbit; maybe do genetic testing, yeah? I’m making yogurt in the crockpot today. 1/6 the cost of buying it and there’s a lot of homemade jam to sweeten and flavor it.
I'm so pleased you were able to get all that food Stu & good onya for leaving a donation too! Congratulations on another successful day - looks like you might need to have some friends round for dinner one night, to help you eat some of the food & socialise too 🙂
Fantastic for a fiver! Yes your veg will freeze just fine and best before dates are just a guide, they will keep for years if stored properly as they're dried goods. Glad to see so many of these pantry initiatives now as food waste is just awful, ending up in landfill is shocking when so many are in need. Great video👍
I'm inspired to keep on track with my no spend January so today I started cleaning out my large pantry shelves. I took everything out, inventoried it and wiped down all the shelves. All put back neat and tidy with the oldest at the front to get used up. I realize I have enough food in the pantry and freezer, that I really don't need to buy much for a few months except bread, milk, eggs and fresh produce. My bank account will definitely look better. You did a great produce haul. What great looking food. Our stores in the US where I live, send their out of date items to the local food banks, which is still better than the landfill. Millie sure loves her carrots. What a beautiful dog.
We get the free fruit and veg on the Island where i live every Wednesday always loads ,what's left is put into different locations on the Island then what's not taken goes to the farm for their animals ...
With the zero waste, the principle is it is not a food bank..I am the same I take what I need too but sometimes they give extra because it will go into landfill if it isn't taken , I pass it on to my neighbours or freeze it.... The amount of food over Christmas was amazing... Zero waste can't take monetary donations where I live...they have an amazon page to request items like cool boxes and gloves to collect food . A bit of pearl barley in that casserole would be lush,
I’m hunting for new pillows in the January sales. I’m sick of stuff, especially in my loft, it’s top of my to do list this year. 2025 time to take control. Thanks for keeping us all on track 👍 Wow, your free food haul was amazing. We don’t have anything like that we I live .
Look locally to you for any schemes from Zero Waste... an organisation run by volunteers who try to save perfectly good food from going to landfill....
Finished work today and came straight home so resisted spending any money, so only spent 4 pounds on my bus fare today, finished off my soup i made yesterday with a piece of toast, afters was a mince pie and squirty cream 😋 I've got two days off so I'm going to do some decluttering and a sort out of my fridge/freezer and food cupboard, that food haul was amazing i wish more places did this instead of throwing it away. Millie made me laugh standing behind you at the beginning, you could tell she was thinking who the hell is he talking to now 😅
My January is a minimal spend month, only getting the bare essentials. So far so good 😊. I am eating my way through the freezer stocks. Great assortment of gifted food 🥘. Make a soup 🥣 with the parsnips, carrots 🥕 and potatoes 🥔.😊 Keep busy. Good video 👍🇦🇺
That's an impressive haul! Most of this week's fruit and veg sorted. There's loads on my olio group tonight, but I'm using up fresh stuff this week, then away for a bit, and the freezer is full, so not getting any. Thanks for the motivation, always good to have.
These videos are really helpful for accountability. I am doing a store cupboard / fridge raid tea of chorizo potato and onions, maybe with some tinned toms. Fake tapas night!
I failed today at my no spend bought a new tv unit for my living room been looking one for ages and it was on sale £159. Wasnt going to get it but knew i would of kicked meself if i didnt get it when it was on sale. Had to laugh when you where doing your bedding my dog lies down on the bed when im trying to change the sheets.
you did brilliant with the foodshare food. we had one in our local community but it seems to have dissapeared. i do use olio a lot now though and have managed to get some great food hauls for free just lately. i also use 'the bread and butter thing' which is a paid for food share scheme but only seems to be in the north if England at the minute. the casserole looked lovely and its a very frugal meal with 80% veg and 20% meat and i bet you didnt even notice only having the small amount of meat. have a great week❤
The nov BF & CM sales are really great when needing something specific, but if I don't need a certain thing I don't look at the sales at all so not tempted. The decluttering goal is fab 👏 great frugal chat and awesome veg haul stu 👍 😁
Inspiring. I'm doing minimum spend and use it up 2025...hoping to clear my stashes of everything, there's a lot of stash....toiletties, cleaning stuff, pantry, books, crafts and hobbies.....You will keep me on track.
I'm doing a no spend low spend year. got gift cards for Christmas for my weekly food shop. Going to keep my credit card locked in my wallet. Plus I told my family to keep me accountable.
That is an amazing amount of food! What is the name of the organisation who makes this possible? Congratulations on your challenge for 2025, I am doing something similar. I usually have about 2-3 months in the year which I call minimal month, when I only spend on my needs, almost nothing on my wants. For example, I buy food to cook at home, but no eating out. No traveling, not buying clothes etc. Ideally, these are better suited for colder months, so will have one in February.
Hi Stu 👋🏻 please know these daily videis are inspiring and keeping our "no spend" goals at the forefront of our minds and wallets 👍🏻.THANK YOU 🤩

Thank you. It's just a group that take it on them selves to get the food and they also run a cafe and do frozen meals with the food waste ♥️♥️👍👍
