Rest in Peace, Grace. you've done so much for your daughter and for so many people, let the rest of us take up the fight now. Also, it's awful to hear about her husband, Christa's father, I hope he found peace as well.
I wrote a letter to this wonderful woman trying to get her to visit my school and talk about Christa and the mission she started but was never able to finish. The visit was never arranged but she wrote me a beautiful letter that I will cherish until the day I die.
My sons' school is named after Christa. There are pictures in the main foyer of her am the crew. I forwarded this wonderful video to the principal and my sons' teachers. Today there will be a school dedication to Christa. This is done each year on this date. Thank you again for sharing Grace's message.
The image of Christa's parents watching the terrible tragedy unfold is my most lasting memory of watching the event on TV. It truly is heartbreaking. Thanks for your comment.
Seven lives cut short and others ruined for what? Money, a flight schedule, their jobs? Their job was to make the flight as safe as possible and damn all the rest! Their arrogance cost seven lives that can't be replaced.
Thank you. Glad you liked my video and also happy that you realize what a wonderful person Christa was and what a wonderful person her mom is, too. We are all honored to know her.
Glad she is continuing the work of her daughter...I was born the year of the disaster. No one should have to go through what she went....what a strong person...a very inspiring woman. I never have got over their reaction to the disaster...i feel so so sorry for her...I wish we could turn back the clock and stop the launch....but i guess we can't. I admire her. Very glad you made this video.
keep up the good work your daughter would be very proud I was in the third grade when the Challenger blew up we all had Krysten on our minds very sad day we lost an American hero that day and we still love her today she in the other astronauts will never be forgotten rest in peace we love you Krista
You can still hear and feel the emotion in her words and tone, even years after this tragedy, she was still pained from the loss. I truly have so much respect for her. She made sure that her daughter's legacy stayed alive. I know that she is with her daughter now. No more pain, no more sadness. Thank you so much for posting this. It is a real treasure.
hello grace, I am a 34 years old french and I want to present my sincere condolences for edward and christa. I was not born during the challenger accident, but I learned this accident and it deeply saddened me, I cried a lot and I had the heart returned to learn this accident. grace I wish you a lot of happiness and I say congratulations, I think every day christa and I promised that I would never forget her face, she is a star that will shine forever in my thoughts. long live America . long life in the united states. I am with you, be strong, I am sure that christa is happy to see you very strong. I send you a little bit of my heart. fabien.
Thank you for your comment. We all need to keep this horrible event in our memories and hope that the powers that be can avoid and prevent future tragedies.
Thank you very much for your kind words. Grace is an amazing woman and I'm so thankful I know her. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my video. - Steve Date
And that's what annoys me and still happens today, the lower down people WARN the execs and bosses about issues yet due to money or other reasons are ignored, even though they are right. Then when the disaster happens, those same bosses deny everything and it's the little people that get targeted.
I’m 45 and remember it well. Didn’t see it live but heard about it from other students at school. I was in 7th grade. This was pre internet/social media so news spread much slowly.
What an incredibly strong woman and such an inspiring story that brought tears to my eyes. Millions of people including me watch the disaster but only a 1000 views about the incredible memorial her Mom continued after. Losing your daughter then shortly after your husband. Thank you for continue the saga and legend of your daughter!
Why didn't one of them call the press if they couldn't get in touch with the astronauts or their family? Why wait until they are gone to come forward? In today's world thankfully nothing like that will hopefully ever happen
Vice President bush said the wisest thing at that time,,,he had a special message for children watching that going on missions into space and similar adventures are what make life worthwhile but there are risks involved!
joe pish Check out the videos on youtube about the Challenger crew still being alive. If its true and it looks like it is, its a terrible trick to play on people.
Wouldn't be horribly hilarious if the toy rocket they send up at the end suddenly fuckin blew up too? XDDDD I know, I'm going to Hell, but like it goes up and everybody cheers and then it bursts into fuckin flames and everyone is like :OOOOOO

Sadly I'd say not - finding peace. They would have thought about it every day after from the time they woke to when they went to sleep. Aweful.
@@marknorris1381 wow this comment 4 years ago :)
But anyway, I meant like now that they've passed. Her parents.

I bet your letter meant a great deal to her as well.

Steve, Have we met? I was Grace’s assistant and I remember her traveling to Coalwood. thank you for sharing this beautiful video.
I've never forgotten about this woman. God bless her.
What a brave Woman, RIP
This was nice to watch. What a wonderful outlook and attitude Grace demonstrates considering what she's been through. God bless her.
Thanks for this video. Very touching.
Thanks for the comment. It's a truly tragic story, and we now know it didn't need to happen.
Please tell Grace my ❤️ Is with her
RIP my family! Love them forever!
Thank you for your comment. We all need to keep this horrible event in our memories and hope that the powers that be can avoid and prevent future tragedies.
Do I see tear tracks on Grace's face? I can only imagine.
It breaks my heart to see her parents not realize whats happening.
She will never be forgotten.
Hope all 3 of them are reunited now and in pure happiness.

❤️ They're together now ❤️
Such an awesome video, and such an inspiration as a person.

its a Shame that happened, horrible accident,God Bless Them
I got a daughter's I couldn't imagine the pain 💔😪
Yeah she's still kickin' 😀 would love to meet her one day
Great video. Does anyone know if grace is still Alive?
+Kerri Allen she is.
+gunz-n-gadgets Good to hear
jazon345 Alive and doing very well I might add, she just did a lecture on the 28th in honor of the 30th anniversary of the tragedy...
She died today.
Virgil Grissom Where did you find that out? I looked it up, but can't find anything.
She has lost so much and yet she is so dignified if she is a lttle bitter about nasa's decision to launch challenger well she has every right to be.
I don't know about the rocket launch at the end. She didn't need to see that. What if it had blown up?
What? It's a toy rocket. What a strange comment.
And some people believe this is a conspiracy and theyre all alive.
I dont think so
The lunatic fringe.
Even in death, Christa still inspires.
Why didn't one of them call the press if they couldn't get in touch with the astronauts or their family? Why wait until they are gone to come forward? In today's world thankfully nothing like that will hopefully ever happen
Mother Everyone is fine with the love daughter 🌹🌹🙏
Where is big bird
Vice President bush said the wisest thing at that time,,,he had a special message for children watching that going on missions into space and similar adventures are what make life worthwhile but there are risks involved!
i was only 4 at the time my mom watched the launch
THE MOTHER HAS NOT AGE ONE JOT
IF I HAD BEEN THE HEAD OF NASA IN THE MID 90S I WOULD HAVE OFFERED A PLACE ON A SHUTTLE MISSION TO HER MOTHER
Christa McAuliffe now works at Syracuse Law University and is doing very well, bless her!!
+jimbob jim I just heard that also....that she, and others, are still alive. Can you elaborate a little more on that and how you know this?
joe pish Check out the videos on youtube about the Challenger crew still being alive. If its true and it looks like it is, its a terrible trick to play on people.
stfu
Wouldn't be horribly hilarious if the toy rocket they send up at the end suddenly fuckin blew up too? XDDDD I know, I'm going to Hell, but like it goes up and everybody cheers and then it bursts into fuckin flames and everyone is like :OOOOOO
Yeah, you aren't funny.
