- Hello there all, and welcome to this milestone video of finally opening a TVC Count Dooku, but what a fine figure it it! Congratulations @hasbropulse.
Seeing as though I (and many others) have waited so long for this character in the Star Wars 3.75 Vintage Collection, I thought I would make it a more featured special (longer video) than my usual TVC QUICK-SHOT reviews... plus I shot him outside my carded room in natural light! 🥰👌🏼
Anyway....I hope you all have a fantastic Easter weekend and what better figure to open and review this Good Friday, than the highly anticipated VC307 Count Dooku a.k.a Darth Tyranus from Attack Of The Clones!

Christopher Lee was great in this role. Interesting fact, he brought some of his personality to the character. Namely, he was experienced with Fencing and suggested to Lucas that Dooku’s hilt be curved, like his actual fencing sword, he also added that Salute to the scene when he ignites his lightsaber and brings it to his face before engaging as he actually did this while fencing. Great review great figure,

As of now I picked up 4 of these, but I can see myself needing at least 2 more. There’s at least 4 different scenes I want to set him up in. Great to finally get this in TVC! Cheers!

Great review Nick. I’m absolutely loving this Dooku figure, such an awesome likeness to the great Sir Christopher Lee, looks amazing from any angle and lots of great articulation. I found when posing him his hands and the saber hilt are a bit gummy, but still lots of options. I’ve been trying to tuck down the ‘hood look’ with the cloak, with a bit of time it’s usually possible to disguise it a bit. 👍

They say good things come to those who wait. That looks really good and the most definitive you can ever get. I know I have no room for a collection to display right now but seeing this figure immortalised at long last makes me tempted to find any bit of space I have left and if I find it I would pick this guy up and put him here. It's Christopher Lee man he's got to be in the collection represented in the best way possible. I'd do the same for Tarkin if they made one of him.
The Dooku character and Christopher Lee I always liked as growing up with this trilogy and LOTR at the same time it gave him a career revival to my generation and showed he still had it when it came to playing villains. But I've really grown to like him and the character more over the years it's the same with Peter Cushing and Tarkin. I've gone back to some of their older films when they were younger with Hammer Horror and they're great. Seeing them in their prime.
It's interesting the kinds of characters you gravitate when your younger. Growing up you'd probably gravitate towards in terms of heroes like Luke or Anakin or Obi-Wan or Ahsoka if you grew up on Clone Wars like I did and in terms of villains it'd be Vader or Maul or I guess Boba even if it's debatable if he can be called a villain in the films but he had a cool design and I remember liking him as a kid for that reason.
But now as I got older my two favourite villains are Dooku and Tarkin these older guys. Some of it is them as actors but I think they are characters you appreciate their role and how they are played when you get older. You appreciate the politician and tactician in them that makes them stand out from a powerhouse like Vader. But you also become more interested in the role they play and the tragedy of Dooku in particular. That's what made those Tales of the Jedi episodes so great.
The Separatist faction is also one I've grown to appreciate as I've got older because you again start to understand their place in the war and how Sidious used both them and the Republic and the stories they've done with them post Clone Wars seeing how they survive in Bad Batch or how people react to them in the post Empire era that there are still some left like in Mandalorian it's all interesting. How people saw Dooku as a leader and thought he had their best interests at heart even though he was in on the master plan for the Sith to take control but of course he didn't know he too would be replaced such is the way of the Sith.
Anyway I think that's it for now but knowing me I've forgotten some stuff. Great review. Looking forward to the next one.

I was looking forward to your video and I couldn’t help but mention you in mine.
Really happy how this figure turned out and they could easily have disappointed us since Sir Christopher Lee is held in such high esteem. The only thing I’m not happy about is that one of my samples has a minor scratch on the forehead (aside for paint bleeding from the belt). It’ll be on my miscellaneous display. The other one I have is near-definitive and will be with my other Sith Lords along with their respective cardbacks. I do have an extra carded.
Now I wish for a photoreal Tarkin to be revealed so I can have my miscellaneous Tyranus joining him.

still like my idea about Haslab you can choose articulation WANT and don't want.
let us choose figure we want on Haslab with are order.
for me don't like rebels characters some of characters I like let me choose figure I
want with the order. and let
me switch it out for vc45 repaint or troopre me don't care way it look on thigh armour. limb swivel isn't articulation any way you look at it
The reasons I don't like it are, there is no other figures anywhere in the market place without the thigh swivel. If you want a Death Trooper or an ARC Trooper etc. you can't find any without the thigh swivel. Myself, I mostly collect Troopers for army building. Another reason I don't like them is years ago they had a 12 inch figure that had the proper thigh armor attached to the leg properly. It was actually not attached to the leg, but you could move it up or down independently. If they made them then why can't they do it now, I say at least make it for the 6 inch figures. I understand the 3.75 scale could be too small. The way it looks now the leg looks awful and hard to work with. It makes no sense to me that it's only 3.75 action figure that I'm only going to display on a shelf.
Such a great figure, about time we got the Count in TVC. The wave with Dooku arrived a few days ago, other than that the only other Dooku figure I have is the one that comes in the Legacy Collection Geonosis Arena two pack. So yeah a very welcome addition to the TVC. Now we need a Ventress figure in the TVC. Well done with the review btw.
