  • El Terreno is a community garden and educational center constructed entirely from recycled materials from previous projects. The site, abundant in rich soil, minerals, and stones, serves as an urban garden for growing flowers, aromatic plants, and vegetables. A multipurpose pavilion, embedded into the hillside, gradually opens towards the garden. Bent rod sections form stone-filled retaining walls around the habitable area. The pavilion's roof collects water for irrigation and grows aromatic plants to attract pollinators. This roof is supported by trusses made from repurposed poles and bars, assembled by community volunteers using just four different modules.
