- In this video I am at Lake Lanier in July fishing for Bass back in a creek. I stay in the creeks most of the summer and have no problem finding plenty of fish to catch. Topwater was the ticket on this day. Watch until the end to see some big Largemouth's and Spotted Bass. Thanks for watching! Make sure you are subscribed so you don't miss an informative episode!

WoW! That’s Awesome! Have An Incredible Week! 🤩❤️✨
Thanks! You too!
Don't know how I missed this video earlier. Glad I watched. Good job.
Thanks for watching!
That is a productive morning. Nothing beats top water action! Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Thanks! Topwater is my favorite!
Morning fishing is nice! You caught plenty of fish
My favorite time of the day!
Great job Dana, the Lanier looks good, and the bass are “HITTING” that topwater with vengeance, enjoyed it 🎣
Thanks Chauncey! I love fishing a topwater.
@@FCPFishing Me too
I love those overcast days, especially during the hot time of year, me and the fish like it, Hahaha.
It's nice when the sun isn't baking me.
A pretty good day Dana!
Yes it was!
You've earned your Ph.D. on secondary points Doctor Dana. Nice going!
Thanks! Fish always relate to the points!
Awesome spot there at the end! Can you still work these top water with mono? Just maybe not as well? And do you find the fish are hanging out shallow and off the shore? Like how far are you willing to work the cast back to the boat?
You can use mono if you want, but you won't catch as many. Most of my fish have been pretty shallow lately, but I look for areas that drop off quickly. Some areas might be 6 or 8 feet deep right at the bank. As far as how far back I work the bait, it depends on the day. I've caught a lot right at the boat. I can usually tell after the first few fish where they will be.
Still it was a good video you caught some very nice fish in this video thanks Dana for sharing it yeah fishing right now is very tough in places me and my brother-in-law went today on Sunday call one fish I got one to the boat it came off that was all that was put in the boat I hate them damn wavemakers
The wake boats aren't my favorite either. I had a pretty good day this morning. All but two were topwater fish.
Awesome video! What rod and reel were you using?
The rod is an older model Ark rod and the reel is an Abu Garcia Revo SX.
Home by 10:05. That would be so sweet to have only a 5 minute drive to my own pond.
I bought a house close to the lake, but it's a fixer upper. I like being able to take a walk down to the boat ramp for some exercise. It is nice to be so close.
I notice when you fish a top water you use a bait caster but jig a spinning reel. Do you think the heaver rod tip makes the top water bait work different than the spinning reel.
Most of my spinning rods are medium heavies, so not much difference in weight. I like a baitcaster for just about everything except lighter jigs. I would never use a spinning rod for a topwater. Often I have to get the fish out of heavy cover or a tree and a bait caster is better for that. I also like the precision casting of a bait caster.
Me and my nephew and my oldest son went up the creek on the left side and fish pretty much where you was at on Thursday p did not do too well me and my nephew went back on Saturday and we caught six but none of them was on top water all of them were beneath the surface still a good day
I just love throwing a topwater and it keeps getting bit, so I keep throwing it. I bet Saturday was busy out there.
You bad luck makes me feel a bit better about my screw ups. That water was probably so overcrowded it was unfishable by midday. I guess it was a bluegill breakfast day for the bass.
Luck had nothing to do with it. That was all on me. I knew I should have re tied.
Do you use a swivel ? And what knot ?
No swivel. Improved clinch knot.

Thanks Dana .
@@Natureboy1607 No problem.
Yall should do research about lake lanier😂 its a flooded town
I'm well aware of the history of the lake. It's no different than any other lake.
I wouldn't even stick my baby toe on that water, let alone, eat some fish out of there! You're crazy!
I'm a catch and release fisherman for the most part, but I have eaten fish from the lake plenty of times. Where do you think all of the water for the entire metro Atlanta area comes from? Using your logic, 7 million people should not drink water or bathe? Wherever you live, the lake that provides water for your area is the same.
