- The second volume of my ambient train sounds series is finally here, many months after the first one was released. Working on feedback received from the first version, I recorded a wider variety of sounds over changing track types, and also included segments with engine sounds as well. And, as per the popular demand of having a longer duration, this one tops out at almost 22 minutes.
I hope I have done justice to the expectations of many people who asked for the longer version. Comments welcome, as always.

Enjoy the sounds of trains as they make their way through Karnataka's countryside, both on the Konkan coast and the interior Deccan region, in rain, calm evenings and sunny mornings.
Helps create an atmosphere of travel and nostalgia, for people who travel a lot. Train sounds are always rhythmic and have a certain melody that only people who travel a lot can discern quite well. Combine that with the ambient sounds and it makes for a relaxing soundscape. Listen and enjoy. :)

As I sit to work on my desktop, this video runs in the background - relaxing me, bringing back memories of journeys of the past. The only thing missing, thankfully are the smells next to the door!

In a telugu movie the comedian was TTE. He records the sound and play it while sleeping at home.

super...loved your video...whenever possible, i travel by second class..if you have a reserved seat and its off season..aah nothing like it.... love the sound..the honking...there is no fun in travelling AC class!!

Amazing view of Krishna river... I guess it was the famous bridge near Vijayawada... Have been traveling on this route for the past 20 years from my birth... Don't get the chance anymore... I miss it
Sushant Bajpai Thank you for the comment. As mentioned in the description, all of the footage has been shot in Karnataka. This is the bridge near Kudachi, in North Karnataka.

Thank you! Volume 3 has some of it. Unfortunately they have upgraded the tracks in these sections so the old sounds are no more. I'll need to try and find other places with similar sounds.

I believe if one takes Kachiguda-Manmad express (either up or down), one will come across sounds you were able to record in volume 1. Indeed the best track I have ever heard and have lots of nostalgia associated with it. But again, it will be night time journey and one has to be up most part of the night to ascertain and record those sounds :) I really do appreciate your work Dheeraj. And once again volume 1 is... a cut above the rest! Maybe it was a casual recording but has won the hearts of thousands :)

I am also travelling in 3 RD class, Slepper or general coach but i like only slepper because I am love tracksounds and horn sounds of alco locomotive but in achi there is no enjoy so i love Slepper

And here, Dheeraj Rao , seems like your compartment is around 11th from the front, otherwise the horn on that WDP loco would be deafening.

Sukh-E Thanks. I'm not sure what you mean by 3D mic. But this was recorded on a mid-range camcorder with excellent stereo microphones. Way better than any phone could ever manage.
