@T-Break-nc8ze nice to know. Which version of the gamma did u order? Iwonder if mine will since I ordered the argon thrl cooler version. They are pretty backordered from dcentral it seems
@T-Break-nc8ze i ordered 10-29 but haven't reached yet. I ordered the argon thrml cooler. Will be interesting to see if they put the back fan on with that massive cooler
There was a problem with the temperature sensor readings that has been fixed with the latest firmware. If you update, it will not overheat with the stock fan and heatsink.
Nice, I would do the same to mine. I have two bitaxes, and they are not stable it was overheating, but now I have the option to cool them down. Waiting on the video on overclocking.
Thanks buddy. FYI, i recommend going smaller on the cooler. This was overkill even on max settings. I am going to set another up with a IceTower cooler and see how it does.
@@AlteredComponent Please let us know. Mine won't even run on default settings with the default cooling system. By the way, there is also the Ice Tower Low-profile Plus, but it requires some 3d printing for the supports.
@@AlteredComponent, I did it with my two Bitaxes. The cooler's power cable works well but is not configured like yours. The cooler is working out of the box. The Bitaxes are not working well now without any overheating issues. :) I am Waiting for your video about overclocking.
maybe check to see the current draw diff between the 2 fans so you don't fry the board with the new unexpected load increase. Quick way to catch something on fire
Honestly i have not, but has been successfully running for around a week and a half now. As @theReal35 said below, it is designed for raspberry pi5, so i would highly doubt that it can pull much over stock solution. Luckily i didnt fry anything having it plugged in with the crossed up pinout lol

Question: Does the original PWM plug fit under the new heatsink. I do not have the small PWM connection on my PCB so I'll have to either solder everything to the old plug or connect direclty to the pins on the PCB.
Oof... Quite possible that burned up the mosfet, the power delivery. I bet the chip is fine, but i bet the board trashed because of that. hopefully i am wrong. Let me know what you find.
What do you think of the bitaxe gamma? How about this ridiculously overkill cooler?
it's so big!
Nothing beats adding a heat sink to a mosfet 🤣🤣🤣 but very cool video ❤
D-Central is now shipping these with a fan on the back, just received mine this week.👍

@@AlteredComponent I order the one with basic cooling. I ordered it in October and just received it this last week.

interesting. I had the latest firmware when i dropped this video, but havent updated since. i will go check that out. Thanks for the tip

@@jerwinwagan8972ARE you talking about the ice tower?

Good call, but that cooler is designed for the pi5, so pretty high chance that it is within tolerance

It will fit. Make sure to hook it in before install though ;)
anywhere to buy the chip brackets ready to use?
Yup, d-central. d-central.tech/product-category/accessories/
I just downloaded the zip file and called my local 3d printer company i found on google 10 dollars for 2.
Nice work AC!
Thanks buddy. Hope you are doing well
Just plugged in 12v input by accident both plugs identical. 🤦 sizzle pop. Doesn't work now. Can I salvage or fix this?

@@AlteredComponent Okay 2025 goal rebuild a miner. Challenge accepted
@greennco1 let's gooo
Can these mine on nicehash?
Honestly i dont think anyone has asked that before. Doubt you would want to tbh. It may take a year or more to hit the minimum payout threshold
What were the temps after the install?
Runs around 42C overclocked. It was staying between 35-40C with no OC. Full overclocking video coming soon
@@AlteredComponent 42c overclocked that's 👍👍👍 I'll be on the look out for the overclock video awesome work sir!!!
